Speaking of CEX I'm thinking of trading in my old 360. More for practical than financial reasons but would it be better off at Cex, Game, Grainger or somewhere else? Not a load of options on the street around here I don't mind trading for credit if its a decent price and I can buy more PS4 decent games with it |

Registered 12 years agoin my experience, cex give the better prices and they're giving about 30 cash, 40 credit, depending on the type...

there aren't many showing on the game website trade in tool and the grainger games one isn't working yet as they've got a new site...may be worth ringing them -

You are better off flogging it on FaceBook Marketplace. I sold an old 360 (cream, 20gb) with a Kinect and a few games for £65. No fees, not forced to spend the funds at CEX.
You do, however, have to deal with a load of time wasters how will muck you around. -

Is facebook marketplace better, or worse than gumtree for time wasting shitbags?

I was trying to sell my PS4 on there, but it was a total waste of time. Not keen to try ebay, unless i photo all serial numbers etc first in case of 'it's broken, refund me' issues.
CEX was going to be my next try. -

Registered 16 years agoDo CEX have the disk cleaning machine available to customers like Game used to have? Our local Game shut down and my Fight Night Champion disk got scratched and want to give it a last chance before I get the digital version in the EA pub sale on xbox. -

Registered 6 years agoGame gave me £134 for a 360 and a xerox box full of old games. Not too bad. -
I just took in my old R9 Nano graphics card which I've replaced. I expected them to stick it in a computer to verify it was working, instead he took it out the anti-static plastic, put his fingers all over the microchips and then sniffed it and told me "it smells of curry". That's how it failed their test.
Fuck me.

Only because I've used it briefly as a dinner plate. -

Registered 16 years ago@AaronTurner Ummm... what?
I've traded in two graphics cards there before and they always sent them off-site for testing (both passed). Never seen an in-store sniff-test. Surprised he could smell anything over the pungent lingering miasma that fills every branch of CEX anyway. -

Registered 13 years agoAs soon as the CEX employee saw that there wasnt any pubes on it, he lost interest completely. -

Yeah, unbelievable. I didn't hang around to argue my case, because what's the point?

Registered 5 years agoHave you tried anywhere else? I know some places smell graphics cards to see if they've burnt out or such. It might be their way of figuring out if it'll last their warranty period. Doesn't sound remotely professional, though. -

Registered 13 years agoOn the drive home yesterday and a new advert came on for CEX. Not sure whether it just blew my mind or there just going for a "sex sells" approach but (I'm paraphrasing here) the entire advert went along the lines of
"Have games or DVD's that you want to sell? Then come to sex! Sex will buy all your used items. Come check sex out at uk.webuy.com"
That's not how it's pronounced is it? -

It should be pronounced with a hard c. -
