I sent a couple of games off to CeX on Monday to sell and the app still says they haven’t received them. Just wonder from people experience how long this normally takes ? -

Registered 13 years agoTo be fair I think the post system is a bit stretched at the minute. I've ordered a few things online over the past few weeks and they've all took longer than usual to receive. -

Registered 9 years agoI had a letter from the bank take over 2 weeks to arrive so you will probably need to be patient for a while longer. -

Avoid? Sounds awful and I had to laugh at the thought of stock being generally clean when its handed over to trade in. -

They don’t acknowledge the item arriving atm you’ll just hear from them when they are finishing the sale

UNLESS it’s something being prioritised. As I sent a PS4 last week and it was paid for within 2 days (trade in price dropped straight after so I’m chuffed.. £204 cash for my launch PS4 and got a Pro for 227) -

Registered 15 years agoI just bought a PS4 Pro so thought I would take my 500GB PS4 to CEX to see what they would give me. In store they wouldn't accept the plug that the PS4 came with as it was pre-moulded so took £2 off to replace that. They then kept it over night to test it (it's been looked after and in perfect working order, so I had no worries). They have called this morning to say that as the Dualshock pad is worn, they can only offer me £20.
£20 for a PS4 in perfect working order, with the box and all the items it came with? Are they mad?
I will be going to collect it tomorrow and put it on eBay. -

I would have probably accepted £100 but £20??? You could more than that for a PS2 or PS3.

Registered 8 years agoThe irony is a 'used' copy of Last of Us 2 would be worth more than the console. -

Registered 16 years agoMy dad's in town today and wanted to trade in his old iPhone 6S. CEX offered £25. Game offered £68. -

When I went to trade in my iPhone 7 a year or so ago I checked the trade in prices, for all conditions. They noticed a crack in the screen, that I hadn’t and offered me the lowest price that they had said I could get online. I wouldn’t accept that, so kept it as a spare. But they didn’t try and cheat me. I jokingly offered to put some pubes in the box and spray it in Lynx Africa which made the guy serving me laugh.
I'm surprised people don't check online what they are offering before carting it all in.
I wouldn't have even left the house to get 20 quid for a Ps4 or a 25 quid for an iPhone. -

Definitely not a standard ‘discounted’ grading
For the Ps4, I'm actually bit surprised they knocked it down so much. Normally for goods with issues they give you the discounted price, in this case £89:

Mine was launch, scratches on console
Controller had the labels on the back worn, thumb sticks replaced with Xbox style ones, so had been opened and was accepted as grade boxed
Realistically they probably have way too many PS4s now so are being very picky -

Obviously I checked trade in prices before taking it in.

In store they also said would probably be £95. The PS4 I took in has no scratches or scuffs. It's in perfect condition. I even cleaned the dust from the vents before taking it in. The only sign of use was the slight wear on the pad on the Dualshock 4. No way is that enough to warrant £20.
I only took it in as I couldn't be bothered taking pictures etc and putting it on eBay. I'm going to collect it back from CEX tonight and will be putting it on eBay now. I hadn't been in CEX for a few years before this incident and I doubt I'll be going back anytime soon. -
I agree on the they have too much stock. Pretty sure years ago I was refused trading in a game because they had too much.
