The d-pad of the official 360 pads is shit anyway.

So, just to bring this to a close. Asked for a refund from the company (an Amazon marketplace seller) and told them the reason why. I got sent an instruction list back of how to edit the related Xbox 360 .inf file and manually install the driver afterwards. And... it worked!

    How fucking bizarre.

The PC recognised the dongle as the wireless 360 receiver, I turned on my 360 pad and it picked it up straight away.

Part of me is thinking... I have been sold some rip-off fake piece of hardware - what am I doing manually editing .inf files in notepad for? But quite frankly the thing works, and so for now I'm happy.

And BTW, just booted up the PC Dirt2 demo (I'm about 50% through the 360 version) and it does look rather lovely and has clear improvements over the 360 version (which I already think is impressive), so I'm now kind of pondering whether to trade in my 360 copy for a PC copy.

And now I definitely want to get the PC version of Split\Second - assuming its still coming!

What, owning a Wii, PS3 and 360 doesn't count me as a console owner?!

    And a PSP.

    And a DS!

    ;)

Second wireless receiver has gone and blown the fuse after just 9 months, stupid junk.

Time to dig out the soldering iron and short the fuse which did fix my first receiver and it's worked ever since without issue it's just a pain in the arse.

Are most people just using wired 360 pads or am I just very unlucky with my receivers?
