You're coming specifically to shoot the Power Station? It's not easy to get to you know; it's not open to the public and there's no real line of sight from the north and west because of the river and railway; from the south and east you've got buildings and walls in the way. Not sure you're going to have much luck. Try Bankside instead. -

The view on the inside is amazing, specially if you get into the old control room. Not all that easy though, probably even less so now they use it for events. -

You can walk up to it, reasonably close, but it's fenced off to the public. -
I'm not kidding here, but if you go to the Cringle Street "Household Waste and Recycling Centre" (or tip, in old money), you might get some good shots from the other side (i.e. not from across the river). The tip is basically next door - there'll be a guy in a portakabin who might shout at you but definitely worth having a look to see if you can make something work.
Other than that, walk down from Sloane Square down Chelsea Bridge Road and you'll get a great view of the chimneys peeking over the trees. Then yeah, go left and look at it from the Chelsea Embankment for the head-on view. -
Take one Pink Floyd Animals cover. Take a picture of it. Done.
