I thought this was going to be about another hose ban.

And the summer drought exists so you can, you know, enjoy summer.

Demon's Souls (late June) should provide salvation for those of us who have a vampire-like reaction to sunlight.

Also Mario Galaxy 2 and Crackdown 2.

Summer is for taking a sunny stroll out to stock up on all those winter / spring releases you missed, so you can have something to do when that freak sunny day finishes and the rain starts again.

In the event of a real summer, you remember your handheld.

There is no summer draught, there are a fuck ton of games that have recently been released and crackdown 2 is out in July.

I forgot about crackdown 2. Still playing Red Dead and after that I have Alan Wake and GoW3.

Metroid Other M and Mafia 2 out in August as well - not a huge line up for the next three months, but there's a couple quality titles spread out between the three consoles for people to play.

Got Mass Effect 2, Red Dead, Alan Wake & Super SF to keep me going. Summer of Arcade on 360 could do good too if they do it.

It's been like Christmas for games releases the last month or so, a bit of a pause will be welcome.

Demon Souls and SMG2 are both on my to buy list. I want both of them far more than the 4 games in the OPs list. (In fact RDR is the only one of those 4 I have any interest in).

There's so many games released nowadays that it's impossible to have a sumer drought. I'm still working my way through a huge backlog and come September it'll get bigger again.

There is no summer drought if you own a PS3 and have never played Demon's Souls before.

That is, if your man enough for the game...

After playing Mario Galaxy 2 for three hours tonight (just got it), I can safely say that there is no drought for me :)

I'll be buried in Crack(down 2) all summer, I think...
  • Deleted user 30 May 2010 08:58:00
Finished with RDR and since Crackdown 2's focus is multiplayer then that's not for me. Time to go back to finishing Mass Effect 1 & 2 and tidying up some olld stuff before TDU2 (this year's real must-have) comes out

    Crackdown 2's focus is multiplayer?

Not that I am aware of. The dev's are pushing the 4 player co-op but also regularly point out there is a lot of single player content to enjoy as well, it's just one of those games that has many more possibilities when you can play it with a group of friends.
  • Deleted user 30 May 2010 14:26:40
Every preview I've seen seems to focus on the multiplayer side of it.

They focus on it becuase its new. Much like the first one you can do the entire game single or co-op, it makes no difference in the end.

Yeah, they are just banging on about it because the co-op side of Crackdown 2 is far more developed than the originals. There is still a vast game you can play without going online, more so this time around as well as they have actually put a proper story into the game.
