Registered 20 years agoNo, I mean, what does one have to do to get it? It seems insane that it would work? -

Registered 20 years agoIts your basic pyramid scheme, but because instead of scamming the people in each succesive layer by making them pay for the layer above, it scams the companies running the affiliate schemes which all the people sign up to and then cancel, but they still payout affiliate money which then funds the ipods. So because you are scamming AOL (for example) instead the people below you its all OK
Just like all pyramid schemes, it stops pretty fast as you need the following numbers of people per layer if each person needs 5 referrals to get their ipod:
5
25
125
625
3,125
15,625
78,125
390,625
1,953,125
9,775,625
48,828,125
244,140,625
1,220,703,125
6,103,515,625
It doesn't take long to require every person on the earth to sign up for only 1/5th of them to get iPods. Obviously it runs out far quicker than that. -

Registered 16 years agoI don't think they are a scam but you will get loaded with spam and have to start trials of lots of services requiring your credit card number... and if you don't cancle (hard to do sometimes) you start paying for those services. -
Pyramid scheme, surely? -
