Yes, that's true and "fluent" is used incorrectly all the time.People without knowledge of a language perceive any level of the language to be "fluent".
Maybe her Italian WAS poor, but after 4 years in an italian prison, it was pretty good? You sure they were referring to the same trials? Plus, I speak a bit of french - sometimes I can sound pretty fluent, at other times I'll really struggle. It depends a lot on the topic of the conversation, and if I've talked about it before. -

There definitely is, having just read Wikpedia's more balanced version the prosecution is incredibly dodgy and there seems to be bugger all evidence against Knox's bf.

If she hadn't changed her story so many times and falsely accused someone it wouldn't really be under discussion. -

Registered 14 years agoI've been following this for the past couple of days and I've come to the conclusion that she shouldn't have even been arrested, never mind convicted.
That's not to say I'm certain without doubt that she's completely innocent, but there's just not enough evidence. There is strong evidence about the actual killer, though, who has been convicted. However Knox's involvement is just speculation and the only evidence being "strange behaviour" and her own DNA being found in the place she lives. You just can't convict a person on such little evidence - you need to be certain. -

Registered 20 years agoLinguistically, "fluency" refers to speed of production. It is not the same as accuracy. But of course we generally use the term "fluent" to refer to proficiency. -

That has zero bearing on the burden of proof being beyond reasonable doubt, it's just fuel for salacious stories about the case. It has no core relevance - the law isn't about things 'looking a bit suss'.

Registered 17 years agoI didn't realise that the police all over the world were all corrupt and want to get someone put away regardless of whether they are the culprit or not.
However I just read it here so it must be true!
Those dastardly police detectives! It's all a sham! -

You're showing a woeful ignorance of how things are done in Italy.

Here's exhibit A: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_Due
Corruption in Italy isn't just rife, it's systematic, organised, codified and runs literally from the top to the bottom of all political and judicial offices, and that's not even tin foil territory, it's fact (as above). Ambition and factional in-fighting between the elements of power are the prime movers in political and judicial affairs there.

Also get an imagination, just because your surname is Pisa doesn't mean you have to work in Italy. -

Registered 15 years agoI dont think she done it either. Its like the 'Making a Murderer' case. If she did it, and given the amount of blood at the scene, why wasn't her DNA all over the place? Or Meredith's DNA all over her? -

Registered 6 years agoI watched a documentary a few years ago that made a big deal about all the traces of bleach about the place as though things had been cleaned up. Found it weird that it wasn't mentioned in this.
But yeah as I said in some other thread last night, it's telling that in a documentary about a young girl getting her throat cut open the person that comes across as the biggest piece of shit is the daily mail journalist. -
The Daily Mail cunt was a massive cunt. I think he did it. -
The one thing Foxy Knoxy definitely is guilty of is giving us lads all massive bonners (is that how you say it?) -

"Rudy's" attorney cracks me up. "This courthouse was built in 1308..." -
That was very biased in her favour.
