I thought his initial reaction was fine - the "get on with it" or whatever it was. Then PS starts talking bollocks and calling him fat like a right cock.
    "Fucking" get on with it.

Stewart was acting like an arse, Corden was acting like a(n unfunny) cunt.
  • Deleted user 10 June 2010 16:04:04
How are you qualifying those distinctions? What line are you drawing there?

They're both actuing like cocks really, but Stewart starts it and comes off looking worse as a result. I'm sure the bloke's a legend and all that, but he's shown himself up badly there, and has come across as a bit of a bitter old has-been.

Simple. Stewart didn't 'get in his face' as Corden did. That sort of thing gets my goat so IMO Corden comes off worse as he got antagonistic.
  • Deleted user 10 June 2010 16:13:07
Again, Stewart starts it, and kept it going as well. The initial exchange was over (reasonably pleasantly really) than Stewart starts making crappy fat jokes. He was in fact the one being antagonistic.

The man had his ego bruised from Corden looking bored so he had a pop and should have left it like that. There's no defending the embarrasing fat jokes, jesus that's playground stuff. Corden should have thumped him, let alone get in his face a bit.
  • Deleted user 10 June 2010 16:16:44
Corden seemed to take a verbal exchange up a notch by violating the space of Jean Luc and becoming physically intimidating in a fashion which he was himself no doubt subjected to at school when, as the 'fat one', he was no doubt mercilessly ruined by his peers.

Unless, of course, Corden did say something as Stewart was coming on stage that is not in the video, which is what some people are saying happened. I would like to know more about this.

Also: I would've twatted someone for doing the whole "in your face" thing, it's a pet hate of mine.

Pretty sure it's just a lie made up by those in denial. Not been reported anywhere whatsoever.

Seems everybody is basing it on the posted video so who knows what happened before that. Truth will come out sooner or later if there is something.

Cordon reminds me of some arsey wanker you might meet in a local chavpub. You're just having a laugh, breaking his balls a little, and then he starts getting fucking fresh.
  • Deleted user 10 June 2010 16:33:07
Well, again, according to the numerous new reports it was Corden looking bored during PS's epic speech that prompted the exchange.

He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence, moving from topic to topic, so that no one had the chance to interrupt him.
    But really quite hypnotic.

Wow, captain picard! What have you done.

Picard sounds like a twat in that video :(

I have no idea where he was going with that.

A lot of people seem to be equating Corden as writer of bad things and Stewart as actor in good things, which is a bit weird considering Corden became famous in The History Boys.
  • Deleted user 10 June 2010 16:45:51
It is cordens lack of talent, he led it that way into an insult. What Picard expected was that he would pick it up and make a bit of a joke, Imagine the same exchange between picard and someone like Jonathon ross. The difference is that Fat boy did not know what to say and so Picard found himself in the deep end being taunted by fat boy who was trying to use intimidating body language and physically touched Picard twice.
