Registered 18 years agoYeah, it has some excellent moments and some very flat ones.
At first I thought the casting was awful but it sort of makes sense now...
I like it... I think. The mural of Little Gary makes me grin every time it comes into shot. -

I also like all the g-string photo photocopies stuck up on The Whaling Wall
3rd episode made my mind up really, and 4th was all killer, no filler, believe
Seriously funny.
Apparently they are playing out the last 2 in a double bill next week, I'm intrigued. -

Registered 13 years agoPhone Shop turned out to be something quite special in the end. Proper hands-over-the-face funny, full of brilliant lines. Second series please, but no more, like Spaced. Hope they only do 2 for Misfits too. -

The Trip is pretty good!
Just watched it. Made me think of an English 'Curb your enthusiasm', was weird seeing my old home again...
Have put this on record now

Registered 13 years agoLiked The Trip a lot, but I wonder how far Coogan will push playing (a version of) himself, and how much I can bear to see of that. -

xD Just started watching phoneshop, I love it!!!! After living in south london for 3 years, the accuracy of the characters and the lingo is astounding. Especially the girl from the rival shop! OMG! TYPICAL CROYDON FODDER! -
I remember watching the pilot of PhoneShop that was aired as part of the Comedy Workshop or whatever it was called on Channel 4.
It was toe-curlingly bad. -

Registered 20 years agoAnyone watching Mrs Brown's Boys? Just been watching it on t'i player. I remember seeing a trailer and thinking it looked like a My Family style sitcom, and it pretty much is that, but it's saved by a script which has a lot of jokes in it (mainly for the main character) and some decent slapstick. Bit of a guilty pleasure perhaps, but I'll be watching it again. -

Registered 20 years agoIs ep 3 of the new Rab C worth catching? I enjoyed the first two of this new series (certainly better than the last as I recall), and I'll watch it if it's on but otherwise I'm not sure. Worth i-playerin? -

Registered 20 years agoTo answer my own question, yes it was. Tonights episode was pretty good too. Definitely the best series of this for a while.
Strictly speaking, I shouldn't recommend 'Women!' in this thread, since it's French, but the second ep is on BBC2 tomorrow night. Ep 1 was rather up my street - lots of slapstick, lots of gurning, and lots of tits. -

On the verge of tears with parts of ep 2. Epic stupidity, wonderful warped language. -

Registered 16 years agoFresh meat anyone? Seemed like a slightly more surreal version of the inbetweeners crossed with hollyoaks to me. That guy is doomed to constantly play a version of his inbetweeners character for the rest of his career -
