Registered 13 years agoSo how many people are planning on buying this then? Enough to have some Eurogamer matches? I bought my copy yesterday, it's a good game all round - albeit a bit of a mishmash gameplay-wise between COD and the original GoldenEye - and the multi is a lot of fun. When Destructoid is back to normal, I'll be posting a (ridiculously long) review on my blog there. -

Registered 14 years agoPlayed first level, pretty good (and that's coming from someone who plays one FPS/year).
Special lady friend was all over it though, all weekend. Gold pro controller is shiny. -
It's great.
One thing I have noticed though is that you can run through a pack of enemies until "checkpoint" pops up on the screen, then the pack that was behind you vanish.
I did it a couple of times after stealth went wrong and I couldn't be arsed with a gunfight, especially because it doesn't have the cover system that was in QoS on the 360.
The enemies can take cover wtf can't Bond?
It worked well in QoS, maybe they thought it was too disimilar to the original Goldeneye, but I would have like it, it would have been great in the multiplayer as well like it was on QoS. -

Registered 19 years agoYou sort of can hide behind stuff and use the iron sight mode to pop up and shoot , I've only started the first level though so dunno how well that will work as the game progresses. -
Got my first play with this today, though on a friends Wii. Controls are a little odd. You can't look completely up or down without going into ADS first. Some of the multiplayer maps are a bit rubbish too. Some really good ones though, like Jungle! -
I don't think there are cheats for this which is crap,No one hit kills, can't select pistols only, rockets etc.
Deffo worth replaying in single-player but Splitscreen is ruined by having less options and far worse maps than the original.
Oh well hopefully Timesplitters 4 comes out soon pffffffffffffff -
I like a few of the maps. Jungle, Station and Docks are really fun. That snow level is quite a laugh too. -
Cheapest place to buy? -

Finally tried online multi and it's very enjoyable, deffo worth replaying the excellent singl-player too.
What a great game
-
Just came back from a mates having played this, it is top top class.
Had a go online, 14 kills 5 deaths, I am hooked.
Will be getting the silly edition with the golden pad. -
I've got the silly edition, the pad works really well, I usually get 5 kills and 14 deaths though
"MrsLinfield" will have her revenge though and it will be swift. -

Registered 13 years agoI am tempted to get this now, been reading some good things for people on other sites and I need a classic controller. I would probably play this with the remote and nunchuk though. -
I find the remote and nunchuck the best control option, though you want to up the presets when you get into a game. That way you aim faster and turn faster. I find its far easier to control than the sluggish settings for beginners. Saying that, i've played through two CODs and Metroid Prime 3 with the same controls so i'm quite used to it now.
Keeping on the topic of controls, has anyone had any control glitches? I was playing split screen a couple of days ago and lost the ability to run. I could still use A to vault over objects and fix the screen for aiming, but my character refused to run at all. It didn't matter which character I picked or the load-out. I had to jump out of split-screen for a round before it fixed itself.
Speaking of glitches, on Docks I fell through the level as I tried to vault through a window. Haven't been able to do it a second time, but it was quite amusing. -

Registered 11 years agoThis is a great little game and is perhaps the best FPS on the Wii.
I am playing through on Agent mode and I find it quite intimidating when you are out of cover with half a dozen baddies shooting at you, which more or less means dying isn't very far away. I dread to think how troublesome the game is on 007 difficulty!
The game does 'struggle' at times though since the engine chugs along when things gets rather hectic but it shows that Eurocom are a little bit more ambitious than the majority of third party developers for the Wii.
I haven't tried multi-player yet though.. -

Registered 11 years agoUp to the jungle level now and loving this game more and more. Well done Eurocom, how about an update of your own game, The World is not Enough. I really hope this sells well enough so we get a sequel with this engine. They deserve plenty of sales. -
I now have it with the golden pad. -

Registered 12 years agoIn case anyone would like to start weekly EG matches, here's my friend code: 398815142886. I personally love Black Box mode but I'll play anything as long as there's a host who doesn't disconnect 20 secs before the end of a match. -

Registered 14 years agoI'd love to have a regular match with forumites. Call of Duty was spoiled by dickhead hosts quitting whenever they get killed (typically when their fave camping spot is rumbled), team killers and general griefers with no way to get rid of them.
I'd rather play in private matches and earn 0 XP than put up with the constant fuckery of Dickheads Online. -

Registered 12 years agoFound this mildly disappointing to be honest. Single player was okay from what I'd seen so far.
Then I realised I can't just jump into death match due to this ridiculous friend system they have for online play. My gaming time is quite sporadic so I can't commit to a particular time to play online. I just want to go online when the mood takes me, although from the comment a few above mine, it sounds like I'm not missing much -

You can't just jump in a lobby?
that is fucked up -

Registered 12 years agoYou can jump into a random game without using friend codes. It's when you want to play with friends that you need to use friend codes. I don't see why that freaks people out. Finding random matches is easy and quick. The only problem is quiting hosts. -
What the fuck is this nonsense about then:
