PurpleShurple wrote:I was sceptical. But yes, beautiful just about sums it up. Music is incredible. What made the game for me was meeting someone halfway through who guided me the rest of the way. I was frantically looking for him / her at the end as i wanted to finish the journey together. Just some totally random person who i have no other connection with other than they were playing journey at the same time as me. Brilliant. Don't think i would have enjoyed it anywhere near as much solo to be honest. And that bit near the end in the snow where that flying thing dive bombs you was starting to grate. Still, great experience and well worth the 10 quid! Edited by robc84 at 23:21:09 27-07-2015 |

Registered 12 years agothe cloak you get when you achieve the transendence trophy, iirc, by collecting all the normal scarf upgrades -

You called them "achievements" within earshot of the PS mic and it trolled you.

Challenge and player input doesn't equal substance. If your argument was Braid had better gameplay, then it would be better, but in terms of emotional impact and as an overall experience, Journey offers a great deal more. Not even the designer of Braid can fully explain his own game in those terms.
braid is emotionally involving, if it clicks for you. the way it tied together its theme with the central mechanic was masterful. that end sequence was up there with ico and brothers for me, in those terms, and illustrating a much more complicated feeling with it. hit me like a tonne of bricks at the time.
looking forward to journey!
very different experience to braid. journey is about digital euphoria, for me. braid is more introspective. -
Finally got all the trophies. My first 100% on a ps console shame there wasn't a platinum. Fantastic game. Would recommend it to everyone.
Rocket League next! -

Registered 15 years agoIt's incredible, but not the sort of game you pick up for half an hour here and there in a bit of a rush- you need to make time for it. Medatitive, mournful, majestic.
I have a PS4 white cloak now to go along with my PS3 one

well done. -
@PurpleShurple you need to collect all the glowing symbols.
The trophy is the Transcendence one buddy.
That's what I love most about the game. I came across someone in a white robe and he just took me on the journey basically. Loads of things I'd missed.

What Mr CD said
How do you get said white coat?.gif)
There's a grouping of tablet type things in one corner of the central hub area in the desert- the one you can access all the levels from. If you spot any gaps in them then you missed something from that level. The whiteness is cool (not in a KKK way) but what's best is you get a reasonable length scarf by default that automatically recharges itself. -

Registered 15 years agoI was mopping up a couple of trophies yesterday and, mid way through someone joined me. They were infuriating! From the cloak patterns (or lack of) they looked new, yet didn't want to take their time and find the murals, check out the secrets etc. They played it like it was an endless runner ffs.
Got to the end at the peak of the mountain and drew a cock in the snow

Nice.
Can't find this bleeding flower yet though!
Quit run two in the depths. Will save that again for the weekend.
This, like Flower, is such a nice game to relax with. -

I know I mentioned it earlier, but what exactly are this studio working on now? Seems to me like they're just slowly going bankrupt. -

Registered 6 years agoFinished. Took about 90minutes. Brilliant game for what it is, beautiful with a great soundtrack. Went through the whole thing with another player.

90 minutes?... Surprised you didn't just ditch the slowpoke and speed run it in 15. -

Registered 6 years agoI was on a journey with a stranger. It'd be rude to have rushed it. Plus the sights were nice alongbthe way. Not too sure about the final few minutes, was a bit dull verus what had come before. -

Registered 16 years agoTried this for the first time last night thanks to the PS+ freebie.
It did indeed live up to all the hype for me - I played through with another player in a single sitting and ah - so many nice moments!
Lovely game really. -

iirc its the art director from journey...and, yes, its good, and id definitely recommend it if you like journey and its austin wintory again, but its not as good as journey...

I'd probably get Abzu though. It's beautiful and a similar zen like experience, but yeah Journey is something really special. -

Registered 9 years agoI'll 4th Journey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Abzu.
Abzu is good though, especially if you're into a 4 hour game to break things up between epics. Not sure I'd pay 15.99, mind. -
The multiplayer stuff makes Journey very special (I played it for the first time last weekend) but I also think the presentation of Abzu is amazing. The music is fantastic! If you like one I'd definitely play the other.
