Registered 17 years agoI loved the first but the second is the only game I've ever abandoned. I tried. Just didn't click with me and though it was way to similar to the first.
This one however, looks like a very interesting prospect. -

Edit: Actually, I'm warming to the name. -

i didn't even get started because i just didn't like the idea of bioshock 2.
i'm amazed though at the amount of games i abandon. i must have a short attention span.
i've just started red dead redemption and having to control the horse is already putting me off. -

Registered 15 years agoLooks good. Like the setting and the idea of it. Feel it'll end up being very similar to Bioshock with controls and powers etc though. -

So in the 50s there's a secret underwater city but no one thinks to mention the fucking flying city from a few decades earlier?
Did Lucas write the premise for this thing?
You just ruined the twist for everyone, flying city gets shot down at the end (it's more of a floating weapon than a city).
.. just kidding, first I've heard of this - last time I heard they had given Bioshock 3 to the same developers as Bioshock 2 and I was all sad panda about it. This is great news, bit of a similar premises isn't it "I don't want to do bioshock, so here is a whimsical city with people with mutant powers trying to kill you... IN THE AIR!"

I was interested but then I read it's out in 2012. 2012! That's ages away

Ages and ages. -
Jeez, they've managed to make 4 news stories and 2 news articles out of this, most of the news stories just being minor snippets which are already in the interview feature. Never understood the logic behind why they try to make so many articles out of one piece of content, just fragments the comments all over the place and makes it hard to follow. -

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I bet after the initial few hours of wonder have worn off, it'll be just like playing Bioshock all over again. I hope there's a pretty big difference between the two, because after Bioshock 2 I don't want more of the same. -
I watched a few interviews and I'm chilled now, it sounds quite radically different in terms of gameplay mechanics. Still have 'plasmid' style powers, but most citizens won't attack you by default, it has no big daddys (that hand is a robot butler thingy, not a giant monster). lots of open spaces and exploration. sounds damn good. -

Registered 12 years agoI already know what the story will be about.
It's a city in the sky that is falling, it'll be about the economy going bonkers. Add some digs at capitalism, consumerism etc and roll credits. -

Registered 18 years agoThe girl is going to end up being the bad guys daughter and when push comes to shove, she won't help, so you have to make a choice etc. In the end she somehow survives or half survives and you have an emotional moment. -

I'm still only a couple of hours into Bioshock 2 but I'm finding it hard to stay interested in all honesty. I loved the first game, but the second one doesn't grab me much at all. This one sounds kind of interesting, but even so the idea seems even more proposterous than a city under the ocean, and I get the feeling that they're just milking it now, like when someone makes a hit movie and then decides to make two or three relatively pointless sequels afterwards (The Matrix for example). -

Because individual, exclusive news articles get picked up from other sites and therefore generate traffic.

If you think about it, when you watch the news on TV, they'll bring a headline based on a quote of an interview. If you want the full thing then you can see it on the BBC website or something.
It's basically how news works. -

Not sure why, but this leaves me totally cold, but then I've never even finished Bioshock 2 despite really liking the first one. Think I am a bit tired of the clunkyness and the look of the engine (and the tiny levels). -
I played about an hour or so of Bioshock, and it struck me as a bit like Deus Ex but with all the npcs and enemy variety removed. I couldn't engage with a world that blatantly couldn't work (or did literally everyone turn insane the moment I turned up?). I was only borrowing it, mind.
