New game from the creator of Briad

    http://kotaku.com/5631002/a-tantalizing-session-with-the-witness-the-next-game-from-the-creator-of-braid

Not much info about this at the mo. But I'm intrigued.

Thanks for that link. It does sound interesting, even though Braid never hooked me.

Anyone think this'll release this year? They've been really slow at offering any progress. The last real update on their website, the-witness.net/news, (art, not tech) was two months ago.

Jonathan Blow has sadly been eaten by his own pretentious work.

If it's as good as Braid he can take as long as he wants.

I liked it when Kelly McGillis got her tits out.

Mr Blow isn't in a hurry on this one (he's not the only person working on it either, mind). My money is on it turning up in the next six months or so. I think it looks pretty cool.

Did he ever hint at a release year? Braid was great but this is doing nothing for me and Mr. Blow isn't helping with the ego.

Considering that his team is self-publishing this game, unlike Braid, he can simply just release this whenever he think it's done to his satisfaction. So who knows.

He heavily touted it as coming out this year. Then he went silent about the release time early this year.

I'd guess anywhere from the fouth quarter calander year to second quarter next year. Blow has invested about 3 million or in other words just about everything he made off Braid.

Looking forward to trying this. I loved Braid even though about 2/3 in I gave up in frustration. And I know the same will happen here. But I think it will be a great experience until that point I throw the controller at the wall :)
    Exactly the same here!

I thought an X1 version had already been confirmed by the dev at one point, long ago.

Yeah, further reading reveals he had announced the PS4 and PC version, then a iOS version that would come "some months later", then other platforms "after that".

But all I ever hear about is the PS4 version, so I missed all that.

That is strange though, because ESRB ratings usually don't come much earlier than the actual release.

Maybe he meant "iOS months later, and other platforms a bit after the PS4/PC version".

After all, I'd assume it would take much longer for an iOS version than an X1 port.

Aye, you'd think if anything the X1 version would be the easiest to do, thus the soonest after launch.

Be a nice surprise if it appeared same day, but not counting in it ^^

That won't happen, I think it is one of those timed exclusives that are all the rage these days.

    Ah yeah, those things.

In a weird kinda way I don't mind them: whilst I play X game that's delayed artificially for one platform, Z game is delayed for the other platform. We all get to play (mostly, anyway), just at different times.

    Still, rather they fucked off.

With The Witness, Rise of the Tomb Raider and XCOM 2 in the next three weeks it's surely the golden age of PC gamer smugness.

There's also the Dragon's Dogma port, the new Homeworld RTS and something else I can't remember right now.

Have publishers finally wisened up? 2015 was already alright with releases all year, and 2016 seems to continue the trend. A few years ago, new games in January/February were completely unheard of.
