Registered 13 years agoWell for most of us +10 a scimitar will be useful because we didn't need to be told more than once not to eat boss souls.

Congrats on the kill but did you get the tailcut (insert evil laugh here)?
The dark souls mystery continues haha.
Spent the best part of three hours yesterday trying to defeat seath the scaless.
Come back from work today, first go just leg it round the clamshells of death and first time defeat him without landing a single hit on me.

It's probably something that should go in QFs guide. If you're struggling with a boss. Call it a day and try again tomorrow afresh and more than likely you'll nail it first time.
We'll done btw.

Registered 7 years agoCheers guys, haha no tail cut, still a noob after 60 hours lol exploited the side tail.
Just beaten ceaseless and managed to get the bonfire by the centipede. Good evening so far.
Have to say after the boss duo in anor londo i dont think anything has matched that since in terms of difficulty. -

No "official" reason other than it being the blade that got me through blight town...for that reason we have a special bond.....very special. *rubs*

Oddly the Iachio seems to be DPS King if you're plain slugging it out or wading into a large group of enemies. Definitely a kill them before they kill you weapon.
Whereas the Uchi much more about minimising your incoming damage while whittling your opponents down.
The BSS is even more so. -

Yeah the game sort of goes a bit downhill after Anor Londo, apparently the game was a little bit rushed so the first half is amazing while the second half is merely good. Also that particular boss is considered the hardest in the game for solo play.
I think this stems from the "tackle the bosses in any order" means that the difficulty curve sort of levels off and the areas are less tight and more gimmicky.

I find the BSS is more about versatility, with the wide sweeping normal strikes and the fairly long range stab strong attack it is the jack of all trades dex weapon.

Where next for you?
However im quite keen on finishing the game, nearly 60 hours in and i want to have a break before dark souls 2 which i will prob take a bit more time over and new game + etc etc
Played nearly 70 games this generation however it took an xbox sale for 3 pounds for me to find prob my favorite gaming experiance in quite some time. -

Registered 10 years ago@damagedinc We're in the same place, then, although I've done Painted and a good part of the DLC too.
I've completed Lost Iz up until a fog door, which I think must be the final boss. I imagine it will give me the last soul before whatever the End Game is... -

Have to say since anor londo i really felt like i was the otherside of the difficulty curve. I would say argubly the hardest part of the game is the initial run to undead parish and getting the first bell.
Anor londo closely followed, my issues with blight town were mainly the slow down and the drops. Just a very hostile area and one i do not enjoy going to. -

Registered 10 years agoYeah, I gave up for eight months when I couldn't beat the two gargoyles.
Only restarted it because the guys on this thread seemed to be having such a great game, and I had some time off work in October. I literally haven't played any other game since picking it up again then. -

Registered 6 years agoYou know those souls and humanity... gone. Because I died on the first encounter with those 3 little fuckers after the bonfire. What a twat I am.
Anyway, things getting a bit freaky deaky down here in the archives. Just made it to the bottom and got the key. I'm guessing I need to head back up to the big door at the top..... -

Not sure where I'm going now! I gave up trying to rescue hatty. There are a few places and at least 1 item I can't figure out how to get to in that area. Oh and that bloody lever.
So I moved on the next area. Do I go up, down, left, right? Who the hell knows. I think down is the way to move forward but I've headed up for now to have a look around.
