SHOCK! Sony actually gave us a week's notice!
Maintenance has been scheduled to take place on the PSN from Thursday 11th August at 16.00PM BST until Friday 12th August at 03.00AM BST.
For the duration of the maintenance period the following services will be unavailable:
PlayStation Store
Account Management
Account Registration
PlayStation Home
Please note other online game titles and applications may also be affected.
Users who are signed into the PlayStation Network at the beginning of the maintenance should be able to stay signed in for the duration (however the above services will still be unavailable).
If you attempt to sign in to the PlayStation Network after the maintenance has started, you will receive the site maintenance notification page. -

Amazing how that page seems to still be broken, I am shokku. -
Howdy folks, quick question - has anybody in Ireland received a notice about ID theft protection?
I had trouble accessing my email account that was linked to the PSN during the hack this evening (i've migrated over everything to a new address, but periodically check the old one).
When i eventually gained access, there was a mail (supposedly from Sony regarding the protection, haven't opened it), which i found particularly odd, because as i said, i've moved everything to a new account, including the PSN account, which i have received purchase confirmation mails to.
Odd. -

Looks like it'll be down Thursday morning from 2am to 8am according to the playstation blog twitter account.
There will be a routine PSN maintenance on Thursday between 02:00 and 08:00 UK time. PS Network services may be intermittent for some users.

Registered 11 years agoYeah same. Although weirdly it signed me out five minutes after I started watching an episode of Friday Night Lights on Netflix but the episode kept playing. -

Registered 12 years agoNetflix is one of those services that can cope with network downtime, isn't it? I seem to remember that during the Great PSN Hackstergate, folk could use Netflix as long as they acknowledged the error messages without closing down the application. Or something.
Coffee pls k thx. -

Registered 12 years agoLooks like it's that time of year again. I really hope it's just a minor thing and not a huge two-month outage again. Sony's been delivering top service recently, as far as I'm concerned. -

Registered 6 years agoStill down? Like you say hopefully just a few issues with the planned maintenance. Ball ache though, I was hoping to redownload the Walking Dead this morning and smash that while the wife's at work. Will game updates download though? Got Batman AC, Dark Souls and Max Payne dirt cheap from HMV yesterday to be getting on with. Gonna be a good weekend. -

Good thing I ran out of time last night to play anyway, as I was hoping that the revised 18:30 time would come good. Was surprised it wasn't back up this morning! -
