While I'm here, I've done the treeman too. Really good model. Great fun to paint.

Oooh, looking forward to slapping a coat on mine when I get it. Had one for birthday, one for Xmas....íflings sort of done but probably wonít finish for ages (need an emergency resupply of stirland mud to finish, thanks mutant coronavirus for nixing the Boxing Day splurge).
Onto wood elves next, clearing down the backlog. Got the yellow down(4 coats!) but want to do it like the video on warhammer tv. So need some contrast skeleton horde there. Ho hum.

Would rather support the local GW, as if taking advantage of the ten paints thing itís just as cheap as buying online. Plus getting the free coin thing, that for some reason are on eBay for 25 odd quid each.

@EMarkM Sorry, only just seen this.

Its the squirrel from the treeman box.

    Very cool little mini.
That really is rather smashing - nice one!

I just ordered the Horus bookends. I don't know why, they're extravagantly pointless. They can hold my Black Library and White Dwarves, I suppose.

Ah, yep, day one for me. I managed to find most of the big Blackstone Fortress expansions after the fact, but Dreaded Ambull and No Respite are impossible to find unless you pay outrageous eBay prices. Buy it on release or never find it again seems to be the norm.

Yea it looks great. Iím definitely going to buy it and never ever play it 😂

Most of the add ons for blackstone were overpriced even by GW standards at launch. Probably a good idea I didnít purchase a single one. Some of my best memories are original WHQ with additional characters (high elf and war dancer) as a kid though so this new one will go away until my boys are ready for it.

Ooo - big fan of Blackstone Fortress. While I prefer sci-fi to fantasy, this could be really interesting. Always happy for another boxed game :)

Those vampire models are the best yet to come out of underworlds.

New Killteam box set too - although the scenery looks a but meh and I'm not big on Necrons.

I've decided to get back into figure painting and model making - I was going to see about building the entire Space Wolves chapter, but decided on something a bit more varied with a Legion of the Damned force with Grey Knights and other Imperial allies.

It's unlikely they'll see battle, but I do enjoy the painting.

Based on the probable average size of a Space Wolves Grand Company, and current GW prices, I reckon you could do the whole chapter for about £20,000. Probably a smaller and more varied force is a better plan, initially at least. Do the Wolves next :)

Iíve got what I reckon to be a company and a half of Space marine, and maybe half a tenth company of Vanguard space marines, sat still in sprues.

Never gonna get built, despite my dream to one day Ďmake a whole chapterí. Blame the Conquest magazine (and upcoming one, which is worth looking into if you want a marine or necron force).

To be fair I wouldn't just buy everything at once :-) But I do like the idea of a mix of units and I can read any relevant novels while I'm at it - as well as working my way through the Horus Heresy :-)

The code also includes a voucher for 75% off Gladius. I bought the mag to try TW: Warhammer but wow Gladius is like crack. Genuine ďjust one more turnĒ that Iíve never had from Civ or other turn-based games.

Started painting the first squad of Legionnaires today.

And I may have just commissioned someone to do a life sized chainsaw sculpture of a Space Marine for my garden...

Got mine on itís way next week (hopefully, at least).
Managed to snag piety and pain on Friday as well. No discount as direct thru GW web store, but still cheaper than buying it all individually.

@captbirdseye pinged the code to you on Steam the other day, just checking you got it. And that it worked - the envelope was torn open when it arrived so hopefully the postie didnít take it out and use it. Donít think so though.

If youíre near a store (regular board game or Warhammer specific) you should at least be able to call and see if they can do an in store preorder/hold.

In anticipation of Cursed City, I'm trying to get all of the Blackstone Fortress models painted so we can finish the game. I finished the second batch of Traitor Guardsmen today - Negavolt Cultists tomorrow :)

Ive been thinking of getting into 40k as Iím in Wolverhampton and thereís a store in the town centre. Having checked out out the Reddit newbie thread, am I correct in thinking an initial outlay would be:

    - a starter kit from GW (seems to be SM and Necron units)

    - a few GW paints, I understand thereís separate primer coats and top coats?

    - a pack of brushes/tools (the Reddit thread recommends some Gundam thing that has a knife for popping models out of the frame, different brushes etc)

    - the GW 9th edition manual

    - some rules specific to your faction? A codex I think itís called?

I wonít need anything like a model paint sprayer kit, right?

Oh- and are there are other middle-aged people into the hobby? Iíd be making a mistake if it was only played by teens.
