Hey, I know you brits don't need the ability to use the Euro sign, but the rest of Europe does. It refuses to appear in our posts at EG.pt. It does appear here, though ->

2ish weeks ago IE9 stopped to load the article comments for some reason, it just gets stuck at "Loading...hold tight!". Not sure why, and only Eurogamer.net seem to have this problem, the comments work fine on Eurogamer.se. They also work fine with FireFox.

Sounds like a scripting issue of some sort. Some weeks I can see comments with scripts off, other weeks they won't load until I turn scripts on. Seems to change every time I visit the front page (which admittedly isn't all that often)

The marked interesting or 'following' is still a bit screwy, I keep getting the icons appear next to threads that I haven't marked.

The user info box that appears at the main site's comments when you move your mouse over a user's profile picture, used to appear on the left and out of the way of the comments column. Nowadays it appears on the right and over the comment itself, blocking the view.

Is that intentional or will it be fixed? Also, is there a way to hide it altogether? Thanks!

I'm getting the most recent pages not loading bug. On the Olympics thread, the most recent post I can see is load_2.0s at 16.45 yesterday. If I post, I can see the most recent posts, but the navigation still takes me back to 16.45 yesterday.

I think it's whatever gives the post numbers to the navigation links.

Are you caching queries or something?

I do 99.9% of my browsing on the m. site, surely clicking on the last page button for a thread should take you to the bottom of the page?

Once you get near enough half a page if there's a quote war or some chatty fucker your can spend a fortnight thumbing to the bottom.

I'm pretty sure that the playstation summer sale banner is messing with the fonts somehow.

That advert above the forum causing grief again on the iPad Portable view. Can you load it first as opposed to last?

The Ikea ad at the top of the forum in mobile view thinks I'm in Germany and keeps telling me I'm a jetzt downloaden, which I franky find offensive. For a minute there it thought I was in France, too.

What's up with those Twitter URL's when viewing the browser page history (eg. by holding the back button)? I like using the backspace key instead of scrolling back up to the top of the page then using breadcrumbs etc. so this is really quite annoying as I have to repeatedly hit the key/button to get back to the previous page.

And it's not just on EG but other websites too. Am on IE8/IE9 (one is work the other private), wonder if people on other browsers have the same issue?
  • Deleted user 29 August 2012 21:22:07
I wouldn't bother. No bugs get fixed.
  • Deleted user 29 August 2012 21:22:53
But yeah, that's you not the site.

I'm having the same issue with the "Back" button not working on IE. I use IE on my desktop, work computer and laptop, don't really want to change.

    Bit annoying.
  • Deleted user 29 August 2012 22:41:38
    IE is shit though.

Ah, those fucking green dots. How cool they were when they first popped up and worked, but right now they're so unreliable they're worse than what we used to have. Really annoying when you're on a limited data contract and end up opening threads you've already read cos the dots are wrong.

It seems to behave in three or so distinct ways. Sometimes it works fine, so it seems the data it all there still. Sometimes they all disappear, which is at least obvious. At other times they seem to follow some other logic which I've not worked out. Sometimes it looks inversed, with threads I have read having green dots and others not, but that's never true all the way down the page. At other time it looks like it's offset from what it should be.

Either way, it's not working right. You can make it work by sitting on the front page and f5ing until it works but that's not ideal for me. Sort it aaaught!

Don't know what's happening,I think it's an advert, but the portable and HD versions of the site crash my browser as soon as the page has finished loading...
I'm using the stock android browser on my tablet, but I'm forcing it to present itself as a desktop one...
