Why is it called "Black" Friday?

It is a common mistake to think it relates directly to the retailer and being in the red/black.

In fact black Friday is a tradition dating from the 1940's when the famous brain surgeon Dr. Sovac saved the life of Professor Kingsley by means of an illegal operation that transplants part of an injured gangsters brain. Unfortunately, the operation has a disastrous Jeckll and Hyde side effects.

The relationship between the Amazon sale and this date in history is of course obvious.

Well done, Amazon, you can't even do a shitty broken sale properly.

When you go through to the checkout it should show the discount, or it did for me anyway..

In the basket it said £14.85 or whatever they were, and underneath a line that said Promotional Price - £11.64, when I clicked through to checkout it was up at £14.85.

Vanquish 360 version was £20.99 this morning and is now £17.99, so maybe that deal has already kicked in?

The PS3 version is still currently £20.99 and the timer is still going on the Black Friday page.

Zavvi has both versions for £17.95.

Play have it for £17.99 in their Mad/Mega Monday sale so they're just trying to stop people going elsewhere

Amazon don't half sell out of Xbox 360 250GB versions. Either that, or they are hoarding some for the sale.

A tin of corned beef, some chocolate, a couple of cigarettes, a pickelhelm, a Royal Welch Fusiliers cap badge and a football.

I went for the Zavvi Vanquish on the grounds that their delivery is already broken and therefore not likely to be troubled further by any seasonal sale related overload.

I'm guess the spin the decks like Lady Ga Ga thing is going to be DJ Hero 2? I quite liked the first one.

Looking through the recent items, looks like more of a 'look what we found in the back of the van' sale.

Went for Vanquish on the £17.99 mentioned above. Got the Amazon Prime service so delivery should be fine.

Though racing stuff isn't really my bag, I noticed they had Blur for £12 so I figured why not.

It is a crap sale though.

I've 'gotten' the lights and the mountain bike, but decided I didn't want either. Vanquish looks like the only thing that would interest me for the rest of the day, so no doubt I'll miss out there.
