Registered 18 years ago@X201 Well keeping in the philosphy of Kazunori Yamauchi, wherein he loves it where Gran Turismo allows you to drive your dream cars, he wants people to be able to drive them where they drive, hence the term "Real Life Drives" -

Registered 18 years agoGT 6 also uses alot of Telemetry data from the RedBull Racing F1 Team / Rally Teams.
Redbull have working very closely with Polyphony Digital with regards to GT6, after the work they did with the X1 Prototype car in GT5.
A perfect symbiotic relationship, Best Car Simulator Developer with the Best Racing team in the world! -

Is still it considered a better physics model than forza?
I find GT5 addictive, but I like the presentation and game design of forza four.
GT5; I'm playing the games cups sequentially, and reach one where I can't seem to buy a vehicle that qualifies because none are available. Wtf? -

Registered 15 years agoI can't imagine how that real life thing would work. Sure, you'd have the layout, but without the actual scenery it would be pointless. -

This feels like the GT3/GT4 releases from the PS2 era.
GT3 came out and was quite light on content compared to GT2 - GT4 popped up right at the end and was loaded with stuff.
I feel like this is the GT5 Polyphony wanted. -
I think the most interesting thing about the announcement is that there will be a new physics engine with a more detailed tire model. Since Forza 4 GT5 has lagged behind in this regard and hopefully GT6 will catch up, if not surpass FM4.
The only downside to all this though is the game is being announced for a console that's being superseded this year. Oh well, it'll be the last PS3 game I buy I expect. -

Gran Turismo is one of the few things I keep my PS3 for. -

GT5 has a better model than Forza 3. But the tire model in Forza 4 and the inclusion of torque steer simulation puts FM4 ahead of GT5. Gran Turismo doesn't feel natural once the grip goes - though some people wrongly perceive this making the game harder is actually more realistic. Cars aren't hard to drive!
I'm really glad GT6 is going to address this though. Even some of the hardcore at GT Planet - including a veteran car industry guy who wrote all the site's best GT tuning guides - sees Forza 4 as having a superior physics engine to GT5.
Competition is good. Hopefully GT6 will have better physics than Forza 4. And Forza 5 better physics than GT6, and so on..gif)

Agreed. What would be very cool is if it was a dual boot disk, with the PS3 and PS4 versions coming together.

Not at all likely though. -

Registered 11 years agoI'm a little underwhelmed by the screens / news tbh. Not too sure what I was expecting but this really does feel a lot like GT5+. One the other hand, this little bit of the Concept Movie makes me a little giddy:

I'm not bothered about the static visuals - we all know that these are all photomode shots which look much better than real gameplay. But the thing I hope they've achieved this time round is 60fps with no tearing. -
The new tracks sound good..

Registered 15 years agoI find the 1200 cars thing depressing to be frank, it's like some silly pissing contest that only a 15 year old would think was impressive.
Just make 200 amazingly detailed, fully cockpit'd cars, give us classic tracks like Spa and remove, finally remove the kicking-a-plastic-water-butt sound effects for collisions. And multiplayer. Proper dedicated server multiplayer. With GT's physics, that would be my perfect sofa driving game. -
Hmm... good point. I wonder if they'll work on the audio.
