Finally got gold in the races I was stuck on. Thank fuck. Question - what do you have to do to get the Acura NSX? The blurb says you get it for 'completing the stars on the national B license', but I've got gold in all of those. Also have international B license, but not all gold. No car yet. |

Registered 16 years agoMuch better to buy the Honda nsx Type R 02. No tuning and it got me the gold time. Just fit the comfort tyres required. -
Yank muscle cars are really boring to drive imo. -

Registered 14 years agoAny advice about the classic racing cars one in International B class? I've just about scraped a gold on the Monaco track but I'm being smoked by 20,000,000 credit racing cars in the other events

The Shelby Daytona Coupe worked wonders for me throughout all those events. Wonderfully handling thing.
It doesn't come cheap, but it's nowhere close to being 20mil. Should be relatively affordable with the 200% booster active. -

Registered 10 years agoThe rubber banding in this game is bizarre.
Just did the faster of the two IA touring car championships with a Mclaren F1. Not the perfect car for the event, but one I knew I should win with, as the PP is close to the limit.
The first race was the usual scenario - get to around 6th position at the end of the first lap, spend the next few laps slowly closing the huge gap the front of the pack have somehow amassed, then grabbing the lead on the penultimate lap and clinging on for victory.
Second race though, I finished the first lap in 4th position but that was pretty much it. I spent almost the entire remainder of the race about 14 seconds behind and only starting to catch up on the last lap but finishing 4th.
The last race I took the lead on the second lap and won comfortably by about 15 seconds.
I've been enjoying the game most of the time but the rubber banding is just so eratic. It doesn't even seem to matter how well or badly I'm driving - you just reach points in the race where the game suddenly decides your car is much faster than the car(s) in front. Except on this second race here it obviously never happened.

I ended up saying "fuck it" and bought my own Toyota 7 for around 2,000,000 and it made short work of everybody. I'd managed to get gold in two of the three events with a Chevrolet race car of some sort (and got myself the David vs. Goliath trophy in the process) but for some reason I just couldn't manage it on Silverstone.
I'm sure the T7 is going to prove useful in some other event anyway. Quite fun to drive - cockpit view really conveys the feeling of driving a very unsafe old-timey racing car! -
I've really got my moneys worth out of this. I wish PS3 logged hours. Brilliant game. -

Registered 14 years ago@Dombat Yeah... it's noticeable but did you ever play Motorstorm? That was a whole other league. I'm worried about DriveClub RE: rubber banding actually because Motorstorm was absolutely fucking ridiculous for it - and I mean you could race the exact same race and finish in the same place both times even if there was minutes difference between your two finish times. It also meant that the majority of the race was completely pointless, it all came down to the last half a lap and your performance up until that point had zero relevance.
It was somewhat annoying to race an absolutely flawless race, make one tiny mistake near the end and finish 15th. -

Registered 10 years ago@Psiloc Yeah, I've only played Apocalypse out of the PS3 games but the rubber banding is bad in that also. You can have a bad race but then just shoot past the opposition on the final lap. It didn't bother me as much though, in part because I accepted how arcadey the game is, but also because the environmental destruction meant I often wasn't paying attention to the other cars and my race position and more just trying to survive the course. In a smoother, 'simulation' driving game it really sticks out bad.
Still, this is my first GT since 4 so the nostalgia and excellent range of tracks and cars make up for it. -
Finally got round to ordering this. Picking it Wednesday night. Shall I be expecting to play it Wednesday night or will it be a night of installing and updates?
How many updates are there so far? -

Registered 17 years agoWow, brought this for £26 from PSN earlier. Took less than two hours to download 14gb. However, it's now been installing for FIVE hours and it's only at 75%.
PS3 OS/Patch/Install system is a fucking joke - that I already knew - this is unheard of! And I bet I have another hour or so of patches and installs after this to get the game up to the right version. -
Oh joy -

Registered 16 years agoThe install time was insane. As is the abysmal download/install system on the PS3 in general. Always hated it.
It was one of the first things I was delighted with when I bought a PS4 last week, that all that shit has been sorted. -

Registered 16 years agoDoes anyone else get the problem where it fails to upload your seasonal event times? I've had it the last couple of times I've played. I don't care about my times being uploaded, I do care about the more than 5 minutes of staring at an unskippable black screen while the game tries, every single time I end a session, even when it's just to change a tuning setting. -

Got given this for Valentines day. Then Saturday night looked like I was going to get a chance to play it.....only to discover my PS3 needed an up date and then the game needed 1.4GB update so that was my couple of hours gone. Haven't had chance to put the game back in yet

I'm loving the GT6 Ayrton Senna Tribute. Driving the Lotus F1 car represents the first time i've got to drive an F1 car during a GT game.
