    It's probably for the best, if he turned up at West Brom even Wolves fans would feel sorry for them
    He won't manage in the champ. He'll wait for the next prem team who needs a fire putting out.

    That said, even though he pretty much guarantees safety, he become quite a toxic appointment for some reason.

    He's a smug, horrible bastard. That's why.

    @nickthegun He did it with (albeit a bigger club) West Ham. Our chairman has a massive lob on for him as well. Still, you're probably right. 6m wages + league position bonus for 6 months work. Not bad.

    @the_milkybar_kid If all the media reports of £6m pa are correct as is the often and widely cited, plus the £2m “relegation” bonus, he’ll walk away with £11m for 6 months work.

    Basically we made him the highest paid football manager in football history.

    @Reacher

    Exactly.

    I really hope he keeps his promise this time and retires - don’t forget that (in his own words) he’s “good enough to manage Real Madrid”.

    I hope we’ve seen the last of him but the first Prem team to get in trouble next season will appoint him to keep them up - I’m going to go with........Watford.

    We are putting all the managers names in a pot and redrawing them so every club replaces theirs this summer.

    I'm sure they will both end up at whatever mid-table club they haven't managed to have a go of yet just before the new year.

    Leicester have done alright though, that will be 2 years in a row he will have been sacked for decent league finishes.

    You wouldn't be saying that if you'd had to watch his football.

    I think the main difference is that Everton fans have illusions of grandeur, where as fans of most of the teams that are making up the numbers just want to be entertained.

    Even though Everton fans seem to be massive cranks, it's also not a great look for the premier league that the team who finished 8th is being treated as though it just fought an attritional relegation scrap and barely squeaked 4th bottom.

    8th and below should be relegated

    that'd spice things up a bit

    With Brands coming in as DOF Steve Walsh has been sacked now. Expected him to stay on in a scouting capacity to be honest, but a clean slate to start from.
