Protest planned for outside Sports Direct in Newcastle 11am on Saturday.

Word among the fans is if Rafa ain't backed tonight the protesters will stop attending games and boycott Ashley products.

It'll be interesting to see if they actually stick by their word this time.

I hear Barca fans are gutted about losing him, Digne and Gomes.

I've only ever been to Newcastle once (like), but a boycott of Sports Direct in that part of the world makes me want me to invest in Peacock's shares

Don't worry you are playing Spurs, you've spent more than we have, everybody has. This is not ok.

Quite. It's going to take some time. Just as long as during the process it isn't players all out of position and passing backwards.

Whether there was any transfer business today (I am idiot and typed that thinking it was a late night window not an early closing one)

Is this the new closing window, or just a trial of some sorts this year?

This was a change voted for by (most) PL clubs, but FIFA are planning to change transfer windows to close in each country before their season starts - that will still leave some differences in the closing date between countries. Think its being signed off in October to come in from next summer.

The premier league deciding to do it a year before the rest of Europe should be interesting.

Although presumably English clubs will request insane fees so the others will trade with each other and ignore us.

After decades of mediocrity Levy has delivered 3 consecutive seasons of CL football, a billion pound stadium, retained the best manager since Bill Nick, and kept every single player despite everyone predicting a mass exodus. But fans are whinging and want him out because they didnít get a shiny transfer present. It boggles my mind.

If he has a storming first 3 months and 'deserves' it, probably.

When does Mourinho leave? I reckon he's stubborn enough to draw it out until Easter

But still, not signing a single player seems mad. First club to ever do it.
It clearly wasn't the strategy to sign nobody (we tried extremely hard to sign Grealish and do the Toby/Martial deal), but keeping all our players was the priority which severely limited our options to buy. And in the end it was deemed better to sign nobody than panic buy again on the last day, which I appreciate as we're still lumped with Sissoko and Llorente who we can't shift.

Would we have been better off letting Erksen go for £140m or Kane for £200m and buying a load of new players? Perhaps. My view is it's always preferable to keep your best players if you can.

Just mapped out the games I want to try and get to, looks like I can hit up 5/6 weekend games plus carabou and Europa league before the new year.

Looking forward to Sunday! Even with the inevitable hammering...
