China's your best bet for Ozil. No idea what he brings to any team higher in the pecking order than Arsenal.

Success and value aren't quite the same thing, but I'd heavily question Pogba. Success/Flop is probably too extreme a binary.

A lot of those players are good players in their own right. You canít really tell how a player will turn out at a club. Veron is one of the most exquisite players I have ever seen but for some reason he never excelled at UTD. Forlan scores goals for fun but it didnít quite work out for him either.

The issue as I see it (in my armchair) is that you been through too many managers since Fergie and what Ole has got is a
squad that doesnít quite work together. Itís whether he has a game plan or vision and whether he can get the players in to play in that style or convert some of the players he has got

    You're right.

Romelu Lukaku Everton £76.23m Mega Flop

(Flop is someone who has failed to perform consistently or does not have the necessary skills. Mega flop is someone whose very presence has a detrimental effect on the team. In the case of Lukaku, his inability to control the ball and hold up play results in team mates unable to join the play and move further up the pitch, and constantly needing to stay back to retrieve the ball, thus unable to create chances for him.)

This was quite Interesting, Barca's finances look pretty delicately balanced at the moment. I knew they were skint but I didnt know they had to borrow for the last wage bill and are set to again.

They only pay their players twice a year? Is that normal practice for football clubs? Seems a bit strange.

I imagine the players are fine. It helps a bit with cash flow I suppose (or meant too)

I'm sure it doesn't matter a jot to multi-millionaires, but imagine getting paid twice a year. Caviar in January and Pot Noodles in June.

Seems a bit risky from a players perspective. Not that they couldnít afford it I suppose, but still seems strange.

But the fact Barca are having to manage their cash flow in such a way is worrying (for them). Yes I suppose it helps with short term cash flow, but thatís one hell of a wage payment you are accruing over 6 months.

But yeah, probably doesnít really make difference to them I guess with the sums they are being paid.

No Spanish bank would dare refuse to loan them money. Same with Madrid. It's been this way for at least 20 years.

Good read on modern online fans and the shit journalists have to put up with. In response to the reaction around the NYT City story this week.

@reddevil93 Well written indeed. A good read? I find it quite depressing honestly... Society is screwed.

They were discussing this on the Arsecast this week, and pointing out that none of the top teams - Liverpool, City etc have an "Ozil" style luxury player anymore. He doesn't have a place in modern football.

I find it very hard to feel sorry for them really. Why does it take an overseas newspaper to investigate one of our clubs in order to trigger this story in the first place? What are these British journos even doing, it's pretty fucking obvious that city's finances are against the spirit of FFP, and they're probably not alone.

    It started decades ago:

    Match report

    Loads of transfer speculation
Pointless bit about star player buying his mom a bungalow
X crossed for Y to score
    More transfer speculation to end

It is this kind of crap that people accuse liverpool fans of doing... We don't (or at least the vast majority don't) nor do we want journos doing so, it is clearly stupid.
