China's your best bet for Ozil. No idea what he brings to any team higher in the pecking order than Arsenal.
They were discussing this on the Arsecast this week, and pointing out that none of the top teams - Liverpool, City etc have an "Ozil" style luxury player anymore. He doesn't have a place in modern football.
Not sure I buy that argument. Barca have Messi. Juve have Ronaldo. Bayern have
    Lewandowski.

It's all about the balance you have. Ozil would be a lot more effective with Kante backing him up than Xhaka.

They are some of the worst examples of luxury players that I have ever seen.

What do we understand to be meant from luxury player?

To me it is a good to great player that you don't need and are likely to pay over the odds for as they are a top player in their current team...

To me itís a talented player without the consistency, showing up when they feel like, hiding the fact that their all round game doesnít add much to the overall team play but with the ability to create or score the odd goal here and there through talent alone.

I guess Shaquiri is a good example for you.

Nothing more luxurious that a player who scores 30-50 goals a season. Pointless!

Only some of the best players who have ever drawn breath, you could take them or leave them really!

That's just an "average" player then. Consistency and talent is what makes a player world class.

Luxury is the wrong word here for sure. Clearly didn't think before I posted that but the word is nearly always leveled at players who are immensely talented in attack but don't contribute that much defensively. When some of the best attacking players in the world do much the same.

I think with luxury players, thereís no specific definition and thereís various types, but you know one when you see one. Given Ozilís wages and relative contribution, heís definitely one.

It's his contribution over the last 18 months and how we now play that marks him out as a luxury player. Before then, he was an integral part of the team and how we played. Everything went through him but not any more.

Yeah, I think it's a bit of both... The new contract has made him complacent. We've also changed the way we play under Emery so he's not as essential as before. He was left out for the first half of the season and we improved for a bit when he came back in at the start of the year, but Emery is still pandering to his inability to play North of the Watford Gap. I really like him as a player but it's time to move on. PSG is our only hope....

A player who only plays well when his are already winning 4 0.

    Maybe

Easily one of the best defenders the league had ever seen and a great guy and well. They will certainly miss his presence.

No doubt heíll be looking for a cushy pay day somewhere, but if not I definitely wouldnít say no to a season or two of Kompany to help train up SŠnchez and Foyth.

Good luck to him. All his team mates have said for years he's a student of tactics and would be a great manager. He's such a humble, great guy that he didn't want a fuss when leaving

He is up with Mata as one of the most likeable footballers for me.

Hope he does well over there.

City are obviously evil oilballer financial doping league stealers but Kompany seems like such a great player, leader and all round bloke.

An asset to whichever club he joins next.

I can't imagine him wearing another premier league shirt
