Sorry you’re quite right mate, Delph is definitely worth £50m+. My bad.

I wish the Newcastle faithful would boycott. I get that they want to support the team on the pitch but they've spent probably nine of the last eleven years upset about this now. Just fucking do something about it or shut up.

(For transparencies sake: last game I attended was a friendly vs Braga in which Cabaye was still playing.)
The thing that most of the "faithful" are missing is that the longer they keep turning up to "support" the club, the further we are drifting from the top table. You bought nufc now, how much would it take to make them competitive? Half a billion? More? Another five years of the fat cunt owning and what then, 2 billion?

All the idiots need to stop giving him their money (and as you say, shut the very fuck up). The sooner they do, the sooner the club can begin to rebuild his damage. The longer they drag this out, the less likely it is Newcastle will ever recover.

They're not keeping it alive, they're slowly killing it. You're "supporting" his fucking cash flow, you absolute set of pisswits. This has been obvious for ten years now. But no, keep throwing your money at him and holding up that A4 bit of paper in protest, after you already forked put for a more expensive season ticket. Then whine on social media and shitty fan websites about him doing the bare minimum to keep the cash rolling in.

    Fuck me.

    FUCK ME.

So apparently we definitely have tried to hijack the Saliba move with a much higher fee but no loan back for a season like Arsenal. Will be interesting.
Definitely interesting, given their previous statements that a loan back was non-negotiable. We'll see how much cash makes a difference!

Or whether we decide he’s worth waiting for. I don’t see why we wouldn’t wait as he’d be a long term replacement for Jan/Toby (who’s only got a couple of weeks left in his sale window).

Yeah, you're in a much better place to wait than we are. Especially after the Kos nonsense. Although there was some suggestion that you'd made a move because Roma had bid for Alderweirald

Even if Toby goes we can wait. He won’t be any more ready for PL football than Sanchez or Foyth, although I think the latter is going to move to fullback where he played for Argentina in the Copa America. Still, we’re covered really.

Why isn’t Lookman getting love at Everton? He looks so talented.

Surely someone will come in for Alderweireld. He’s too good for someone not to pay that for him. I know he’s not young anymore, but he’s still a quality player.

So we’ll need to bring someone in. I like Sánchez, but he’s still got some improving to do and i’m unconvinced by Foyth. That being said, bringing another 18 year old won’t solve that problem, unless Poch believes Sanchez is up to it and the new guy will be cover and for cup games.

Are we covered though? I think if Toby goes we’ll need another experienced CB, but that’s obviously not this guy.

Unless you mean we are covered for young promising CBs, in which case I agree.

I think if Dier hadn’t decided he wanted to be a midfielder he’d be one of the best CBs in the league. We’ve all forgotten how good he used to be there. He provides very decent cover, so we’ve got two first choice and two spares, even if Toby goes. I agree Sanchez needs to step up but he clearly got the chops. I think Foyth is really talented as well, just inexperienced.

I’m really not sure Toby is going. I don’t think Roma is what he has in mind. He’s more likely to stay and go on a free next year imo.

@AboutHalfaStevas exactly, with 52,000 turning up every other week and shirts continuing to sell and the club reasonably stable with all that tv money coming in why would Ashley sell for less than he's asking?

Again, the rumours about the club being sold always come in season ticket renewal time. Ashley is absolutely playing the fans.

Unless he set up a fake company in dubai and released a statement from them I'm not sure how this was him playing the fans this time.

    @You-can-call-me-kal

I guess Roma is a sideways step and I doubt their wage structure is much different to ours. Just find it hard to believe that none of the ‘big clubs’ fancy a punt on him at that price. I guess Utd need him the most and could offer him more money, but no CL.

More than happy for him to stay though.

I suspect it’s more the the offers are genuine, but his intention to sell is fake.

Yeah I don't think he's got any intention. But the club have also not released a single statement about this offer from Bin Zayed so again I don't see how he's "playing the fans around season ticket renewal time". It's giving him more credit than he deserves.

He could say the club isn't up for sale or release statements about his intentions but inviting bids he has no intention of honouring is playing fans in my eyes

There was stuff in the press about how senior sources within the club had said the sale was happening. Feels like media feeding.

    Anyway, this is super cringe

Wasn't it Poch that decided to move him to midfield after he fell behind other defenders?

No. Pochs always wanted him to be a CB but he was happy to develop him as a midfielder as that’s what Dier wanted.
