Look, imagine the roles reversed. Socratis is shepherding the ball out and Kane is running up behind him. Socratis stops dead and immediately falls over the second he feels contact. Itís a foul 100% of the time and nobody calls it anything but good defending.

All players do that move. All of them. Aubamayang did it twice trying to buy a pen. Itís a completely standard move and part of the game. I donít like that kind of cynical play at all but you canít single out individuals for it. They all do it.

Ian Wright made an excellent point regarding Manť and Salah. I'm wiling to bet £50 if Liverpool win the League Salah'd definitely be off next year. I can see it coming, especially since Real Madrid like a marquee signing.
    Which would be fine.

Liverpool would be thick if they *weren't* thinking about selling Salah within the next two years.

How else will they fund the inevitable Mbappe deal?

Basically "UEFA is fixed on us like the Eye of Sauron and we can't financially dope ourselves to the gills at the moment".

It's becoming a bit of a footballer's graveyard over there. Some right turds being flogged to them. Roma in particular are doing their best to take over the remnants of the Sunderland project.

Apparently we're short of suitors. No surprise really, his stock's fallen so low I'd be amazed if his mum would welcome him back to the family home...

Look on the bright side, we're probably paying Sanchez three times that amount to play at Inter for the season.

"Granit Xhaka is so bad at tackling that Arsene Wenger once admitted he had told the £35 million midfielder not to bother anymore... Since signing for Arsenal in 2016, Xhaka has given away five penalties - more than any other player in the Premier League in that same period. He has conceded 149 fouls, received 27 yellow cards and 2 reds. What we witnessed against Tottenham was classic Xhaka."

Meh, fairly standard for a German international who had just won the WC. His performances in the last 18 months don't reflect that of course (and you are right that it will be difficult to shift as a result) but at the time of signing, I don't think it seemed that excessive.

All quiet on Eriksen which I assume means he is staying.

Obviously don't want him to leave but would be gutted to lose him on a free. I suppose there is always January but the fee would be much lower I'd imagine. Maybe that's the compromise for another few months of service, while Lo Celso settles in.

I think the Neymar situation is the one holding everything up. If he goes to Barca, Madrid could be interested in Eriksen again. And also PSG will suddenly have money to spend and are apparently also interested. I definitely wouldnít assume heís not going yet.

Doesn't it close at 5pm? Seems a little late for it all to happen now.

    Probably more wishful thinking though.

I donít think thereís any chance of a sale in January unless a team is absolutely desperate. Heís almost certain to go on a free next year.

One way to look at it is 7 years of world class service for £11m is a complete bargain in modern football. Yes losing him on a free would hurt, but weíve got ridiculous value from that signing.

It could all be ready to go. Weíve probably allowed him to have talks so the contracts could all be ready to be e-signed with medicals to follow. Weíll see.

I think the apparent Neymar deal fell through a night or two ago, so I wouldn't expect any major movement at this point.

Is this a joke? He spends half of the match walking about in midfield.

Absolutely, but there's sometimes a bias to looking on the good side of players like Kane because they're good, honest English boys and not foreign. Or maybe it's racism...

No its not racism, stop devaluing actual racism over a petty football rivalry.

And that's from someone that thinks it was a dive

Did anyone catch Souness' comments about Moise Kean over the weekend? He essentially completely fabricated a scenario where Juventus got rid of him because he was a problem player, and not because of FFP, as was actually the case. He even threw in an Adebayor reference for good measure.

If they are insistent on keeping the dinosaur on, the least they could do is send him on some sort of diversity training, because there's a clear pattern emerging around these 'lazy' tirades he keeps going on.
