Levy is included in those taking a 50% pay reduction but itís still ridiculous that him and the players arenít taking the hit for the rest of the staff.

Still, suggesting that Levy is happy about the situation makes you a cunt.

I think the Premier League will have had a nasty shock with this - all balanced so finely, and their product can down the pan through nothing that they can control.

Time will tell - I'm probably being too optimistic...

I don't think anyone suggested that, did they?

I hope football returns to 1984 when Ian rush was on £300 a week and lived next door to a dustman.

Norwich have taken the decision to furlough staff as well, though they are topping up the 20% to make up full wages.

It seems that clubs canít actually enforce player wage cuts and that it has to be a voluntary thing or agreed by governing bodies such as the PFA and LMA

Players will be furloughed next - should have been before staff IMO, but it'll come.

    Agreed.

I'm disappointed that players haven't stepped forward yet. Even a small reduction in there salary should pay for the people who effectively, without them, they wouldn't be able to earn their massive salaries and do their jobs.

I'd be well up for Arsenal furloughing all the players and making them earn £2.5k a month. They, now more than ever, need some bloody perspective.

And if that means a few players get grumpy with that decision and want to leave, and we lose some great players, I can live with that.

(Not least because we only have one that fits the above criteria anyway! 😊;)

Yep - If players of my team got the hump, then it would be 'see ya!'.

This could really blow up for the Premier League and football clubs in general if they start laying off non-playing staff but keep paying players wages. I guess there's no easy option but it could cause huge problems for them in the long run.

The fans are still as crazy as in the first series. Within the first ten minutes, you have some nutter calling into the radio to moan about pink seats.

I think only 3 clubs are properly shielded. United, Chelsea and City. I think everyone else is going to get fucked over. And maybe not even Chelsea, depending on Roman's situation.

I think my team Oldham will be all right on the basis that they never had any money beforehand anyway so they are used to it.

My other team Watford will be interesting and as much as I want the league stopped to make sure they stay up, watching Bournemouth go down would be marvellous.

As Kalel used to love pointing out, we still have loads of debt but I assume we have enough commercial coverage to survive in the short term.

Paper billionaires with a shit ton of leveraged debt are exactly that sort of people that will happily be bailed out in all this.

Anyone checked if Mike Ashley is okay.
I do hope Mike Ashley isn't at risk.

Honestly think this might be the breaking point for me and football. Itís not just Levy being a cunt itís everyone else. Just sickens me that all this money is going around whilst this is going on.

I think there will be a backlash against football if the players dont hurry up and agree a pay cut. The press will start hammering them soon and as people get more pissed off it will get messy.

If Juventus can agree to freeze their pay for four months then why can't other clubs do the same? Its laughable that Neville and Lineker have blasted the comments yesterday saying oh it takes longer to sort out all this.. if Juventus can do it, why can't everyone else? Load of bollocks all of this. I've lost a huge respect for football.

For me, it's fucking bullshit and shows a distinct lack of leadership anywhere in the game. They seem to be constantly kicking the can down the road while teams in the lower leagues struggling to pay anyone.
