Considering no one has any idea of when they'll resume fans coming back then it's no surprise they aren't selling season tickets..
Most people with them will want to renew regardless. I certainly do. If next season doesn't happen, so what, they'll just have to roll it over for me and I can keep my seat.

And the website clearly says you can renew it, in several place, but the links are either dead or redirect back on themselves.

And the email I received says I can renew, with a discount for the 4 games I won't be going to this season.

For "da worlds biggest club" they can't even get a simple ticket site working.

Edit - just had a text from them saying their systems are fucked. Their head of marketing and head of development need sacking. I work in that area and their comms are shocking.

Got an email from United saying no chance on matches being played this season in front of fans so they will refund or discount next seasons ticket accordingly.

    Not a surprise.

You can't however buy your ST for next year as their website is terrible. Absolutely shocking. I wanted to pay for it today and I can't.
I sell some of the games on my 2 STs via the club, and then use the funds to offset the ST cost. I am slightly nervous about that, I have to admit. Esp as one of them is a mate's and I have no idea if he even has access to his account!
The club facilitate that? Do you make a profit?

I know they are strict at Man Yoo about reselling. Some people have been banned for life for 'touting' when a mate has gone with their ticket.

Yeah, it's a good system and you are relatively sure that tickets are sold to fans as it is members only (touts owning loads of memberships notwithstanding). You can also transfer to friends etc for free.

I don't make a profit (and wouldn't want to) as the price is fixed, less 10% for the club. I pretty much come out even for the most part - some games are Cat C and you get about £22 back, some Cat A and you get £55. When I sell to friends, I work it out as a flat rate across the season. I can't justify asking a mate for £55 for a football match.
  • Deleted user 19 May 2020 11:28:08
Sounds good that! I can transfer to other members I think, never really looked into it.

Really missing the matchdays, just not going to be the same watching on telly in a barren stadium with no fans. I'd rather they just didn't bother.

It's OK, CGI fans and audio will fill that void. Sigh
  • Deleted user 19 May 2020 11:48:41
In a way it might help boost morale a bit for everyone and provide a distraction, but it's not football to me without the fans. More importantly it's potentially dangerous for everyone involved. It'd only take 1 player to get it and I'm sure the whole thing would be pulled again.

I don't see how it would cheer anyone up. It's soulless, cynical and just stands to remind that things aren't normal. Those German games looked proper fucking miserable and they all just seemed to be going through the motions.

Even on TV, a huge part of the game is the general atmosphere and crowd feeding through to us. I just can't get anything out of a game where you can hear individual voices echo around a barren arena.
  • Deleted user 19 May 2020 12:44:20
Yeah it's definitely not for me.

Or Troy Deeney either by the look of it. Told them he's not going to be going back to training because he doesn't want to endanger his family. Good lad.

    I disagree.

Yes it's certainly not the same as when the stadiums are full and theirs an actual atmosphere but the Dortmund vs Shalke game showed that there was still genuine passion from the players. Maybe it was because that particular game was a Derby but it still felt like football to me.

Guerreiro's goal was particularly beautiful even without the fans.

That said it needs to be as safe as possible or as people have said all it will take is for 1 player to contract Covid and the whole thing falls down like a pack of cards.

They should get a fan from both teams with an array of buttons for sound effects. The "oohs" and "aahs" need to be there as well as "fuck off ref you wanker". At least there would be a bit of an atmosphere.

Or an ice hockey organ player doing his thang.

Wow thanks, that’s really quite touching. I wouldn’t say we are having the easiest time but I’m sure we’re better off than most. Murder suicide inclinations so far kept in check.

    You ok?

I loved this when watching the game. Could just hear the one bloke. I think it turned out he was the team chef or something. Hero

It's actually lower than I thought it would be given that its involved coaching staff as well.

Was it also Deeney who wanted a special investigation into the risk to BAME players?

Simon Jordan laying in to Jim White for the way he and the tabloid media reported Dele Ali's burglary. Good work.

It's less than 1%. They'll probably do a better job testing and isolating than the government. Although that's probably not a hard feat.

Considering that they are looking for a number of around zero, it’s not ideal.

It just demonstrates the challenges. I don't get the positive slant on that. They haven't even started contact sport yet. It's not hard to imagine that accelerating quickly.

They haven't even tested everyone. Apparently some clubs didn't even use their full allocation of 40 tests. It's far too soon but hey ho, the show must go on.

As mentioned I think on here it will take one of them dying for this fucking mental need to get it going again above all else to stop.

Watford have confirmed that a player and two members of staff have tested positive for Covid-19.

What do you suppose Troy Deeney is thinking right now?

Great article about Henry in the latest FourFourTwo.

What a ridiculous specimen he was. As a non Arsenal fan I should have appreciated him even more than I did.
