Need a wolves win here. Our only thing to aim for this season is finishing above arsenal. Which is quite sad really.

Come on youíre not that young that you donít remember when that was your only aim every year for like 30 years :-)

    @THFourteen

I seem to remember it was you guys that made a big thing of it. Maybe even gave it a name?

Yeah that wasnt great but Bailly was worse. De Gea shouldn't be letting that in at his near post either. In harder games we probably cant play Pogba and Bruno and will need to use 2 of Fred, Matic and Mctominay. Matic is playing well at the moment but doesnt have the best legs to shield the defence like he should. Its fine for games you expect to control though.
Bailly's chesting of a shit back pass was worse than Maguire being absolutely done?

Having said that about maguire, sometimes attackers just pull off a nice little trick, it doesn't mean he is totally shit. He probably had one of his weaker games today but that was more down to his sporadic passing out from the back. To be fair he's normally decent in that area.

Everyone is so quick to make ultimate judgements on players these days, maguire has absolutely improved our defence. He is also prone to moments of looking a bit lumbering and slow. Both of these things can be true.

Yeah Bailly was worse, he was awful today and made the start of the second half really shaky. Not just the handball, just his play in general.

I am confused. Strange feeling. Played well, defended well,.took our chances. These are indeed extraordinary times.

Now we've got to add attractive to watch and we'll be on the right track again.

It was given as a handball, it wasn't a handball though so I'm not too inclined to be harsh on him for a referee error. He was a little shaky after that, as was Maguire. Bailly is only just back and came into the game half way through.

Yes there were concerns but I personally bloody enjoyed that today.

Weirdly quiet in this thread today...

Anyway, shit game, but the old adage about the mark of champions applies I guess.

Great to see young Curtis Jones come on and get a goal!

Salah loves a dive. It would be better if he didn't jump high in the air with his arms aloft.

Still got hope, but I can see us getting battered by the best strike force on the planet next game. The game against Palace afterwards is crucial.

Southampton look like they want to make a decent go of it. They've looked a different team since our 9-0. Must have been the rocket they needed.

Mo Salah second fastest to 100 premier league goals (116 apps) and assists after the one Shearer (100 apps)!

(If we only look at his 3 seasons for liverpool, Shearer did play before the prem... he is now on 103 appearances and 97 Goals and assists! Shearer was on 102 goals and assists in that many games after 3 whole seasons in the prem era.)

Really congested in mid table. We could quite easily finish 14th. Wonder whether that would be bad enough for Mourinho to get the sack? Must be a massive payout though so canít see levy doing it unless things are really desperate.

If we only look at Sam Allardyce's England record, he is the best manager for win percentage ever.

If you ignore any goals above tier 8 of the football league, I've scored more goals in England than Mo Salah

It was pretty funny on MOTD last night when they were laughing about Ian Wright being the oldest premier league debutant to 100 goals at 28 by virtue of him being old when Division One changed the channel.

I explained why, Shearer's first 100 goals & assists that opta where comparing to arent his first top flight 100 goals, but where from 4-7 years into his professional career. Salah's first 13 games in the prem arent anywhere near the level of these 3 seasons. Also Salah has played 103 prem games for Liverpool as Shearer did in those first 3 years of the prem...

Geeze, I was just sharing a stat I saw on twitter...

I forget who it was, but someone compared Greenwood to Shearer in here yesterday (the other day?) and I'm sharing another comparison and highlighting that in reasonably valid way it is even closer. I'm not saying Salah is as good, but just liking how close he actually is.

Amazing how this thread can be so intolerant...

I think you just need to pause for a second before posting, and think if a general football discussion thread full of fans of various teams is as interested in random Liverpool stats as you are.

Surely thatís what team specific forums are for.

This is a thread about the premier league, if people arent interested in a link being discussed or converstaion you simply ignore it. I do so frequently...

I only shared it as a comparison to shearer was very recently made in here...

I discuss football in an private facebook group of friends and friends of friends who are lfc supporters and with people in person (which isn't really happening much anymore). Forgive me for using this forum as a third place to discuss football with fellow gamers...

Lol, Dickey rattled because someone praised United so goes on a tirade posting redundant stats then crying about them.

Can't even be happy after winning the league. Permanent victim and inferiority complex.
