Yeah? Any articles covering this? I'd really like to understand how it works in depth. The technology is probably pretty fascinating regardless of its current implementation.

In the wide-angle freeze-frame used today you can't even see where the ball is relative to Thiago's foot.

Thought Thiago was excellent today, especially given Allan and Doucourť have been dominating other midfields this season.

The technology means the faster the striker, the greater of error. So we now have a system that penalises speedy attacking, as well as the many other ways it has slowed the game down.

    I absolutely despise it.

    I agree.

That said... watching Wycombe game and if VAR was in use we'd definitely be winning... Goal from corner just gone straight in and the linesman overuled the ref saying the goalie was fouled. The replays show there was literally no Wycombe player within 2 yards of the goalie. Absolutely shocking decision -_-

Yep this highlights why they need a buffer region. That says there can be almost a 40cm error which is huge. Just admit the fact and allow some error.

In cricket, Hawk-Eye cannot perfectly predict the flight of the ball, which is acknowledged and built into the umpiring system Ė hence there is effectively an amber light when the ball might or might not hit the stumps. Then it's referred to the umpire's decision. It's a fine example of technology complementing human refereeing.

Totally missed the game and have just watched the YouTube highlights. They only showed the Mane offside for Henderson's last minute goal. What was the other one?

22 reds now in this tie 15 of which for everton probably should have had another one today. Best start to the season in years and they still have to play dirty...

Far worse than this result is that VVD looks to have taken big knock and could miss a lot in just a few weeks. Who knows could be out for a a while...

Totally agree on the cricket style use of evidence having an errors being incorporated into the game.

That final offside can be added to the many from last season's joke decisions.

    How many handball this week?

Good sign that we could come back from two down for the point. Totally rode our luck in the first half as Chelsea should have been out of sight.

Good debut from Theo as well.

Man City being super cynical with their fouls. They should be yellows.

I'm not saying they weren't robbed or that they think they're more entitled than other teams, but...

    https://twitter.com/AHunterGuardian/status/1317511462575812609
Liverpool have asked the Premier League to review the use of VAR in the derby, in particular the failure to scrutinise Pickford's foul, which part of Mane's body was offside and the moment VAR decided to freeze the frame.

They are, I'm sure, but they also need the other kits to get exposure because shirt sales.

QPR came to Elland Road last season and brought their light blue away kit. Honestly donít know how the referee allowed the game to go ahead, I didnít have a fucking clue what was going on.
