Aubameyang hasn’t scored from open play in ages. It looks like all the fun has been drained from him, and a few others.

Right. What the fuck is going on at Arsenal?! Mid table drivel it seems...

    Sad fucking demise.

    It’s the Ozil contract.

Don’t want to sound too negative so early in Arteta’s tenure, but I find Arsenal really boring these days. Aubameyang and Saka are wasted in his system
I saw his record earlier today and its similar if not worse than Emery's - feels like he's built a reputation on a few big results.

Ha, well Villa deserve it. Wait, no I mean, ALL THEIR GOALS ARE ILLEGAL. ARSENAL HEREBY CLAIM THIS MATCH.

An awful performance which have hopefully laid bare the issues with the current system.

It's more than a few. He's beaten City, Liverpool, and Utd and won the FA Cup.

His reputation should be that of a promising young manager, in his first management job trying to sort out a truly awful unbalanced, disorganised team. He's going to get stuff wrong.

He probably lucky there’s no fans in the stadium as there’s be a banner or two by now. Maybe a plane.

Win our game in hand and we're top. Easy game against Man City.

Villa have just been very good and ruthlessly exposed a poor complacent performance. It's happened to a lot of sides this season already.

Frankly I'm glad we were shit tonight and not last week. We're still a fairly bad side, so inconsistency isn't exactly a surprise. Work to do.

Big shock in Pep and Klopp being united in supporting a rule change that would massively benefit richer sides.

Yeah, going to be tricky to change that but I can see why they are pissed if other Euro leagues allow the 5 - though I'm not sure how widespread that is - as tip the balance against PL teams with more fatigue going into CL and EL games.

Not sure if it was Ian Wright last night who mentioned that PL teams playing each other who are both in Europe could play 5 subs when playing each other... but probably still hands those teams an advantage by resting more players for upcoming PL games and as teams fall out of CL/EL it's only going to cover a handful of games at most.

I guess success reaps benefits and hazards - it has been ever thus but this season - with the short pre season and the Euros next summer is extreme.

I just can't understand why we can't put in some of our youth prospects that look like they're hungry for football. I mean isn't that part of what Villa look so good yesterday? I don't think anyone can tell me that Willian at the moment is any better than Nelson. Then in the middle we've got Willock who has been looking stronger this season. Also got Maitland Niles who when called on has made man of the match performances.
Also can't fathom why Auba isn't the sole striker.. he is wasted out on the wing, especially when Laca has looked utter piss this season.

Basically should be a balance of youth and experience which we have but aren't being used because we probably have to shoe horn in Willian and probably Pepe again because they are on huge contracts.

Arteta's pallid and haunted look last night was a dead-ringer for the Mysteron-possessed Captain Black. All it needed was some wag on the lighting to pan a couple of rings around the stadium and job done.
