My lot have been poor to mediocre all season, played 20 odd, lost none, cruised Europe, joint top (though I expect QFs and 3rd will be the end result). Funny old game. |

Wow, this is the second thread on the internet I've been involved in that has had to be closed due to it breaking the forum! hah.
I was watching the champions league highlights last night and I thought that just once things are going for us this season with injuries. Bad stuff for Arsenal but we need a break at the moment.
Carew is back, eh? Time to step up for him. -

Registered 18 years agoHe always steps up against us. Bastard knocked us out of Europe twice. I would've loved us to sign him back then. -
There probably aren't enough strip clubs in the Arsenal area for his taste, either that or the ladies are actually classy, which big John doesn't seem to go in for. We need someone to start banging in the goals. To be fair, we've been creating lots of chances and once Carew gets some confidence back I reckon he'll do well so this might indeed be the day.
Seems a bit stupid of Wenger to have played Fabregas anyway, it was a bit of a nothing game and surely there were other players? That team were pretty dirty by the looks of it. -

Registered 18 years agoYeah, not sure why he played him either. Fabregas desperately needs a break. I'd be tempted to give him 4-6 weeks to recover properly, this will just keep happening otherwise -

Were there any other injuries in that match? It seemed like Wilshire took a knock. It'll be funny to see Wilshire and Bannan playing in midfield against each other, it'll be the battle of the Hollywood short arses
I don't see how it is possible to rest Fabregas for that long, he is such an important player. He bring so much drive, skill and inspiration to the team. -

He's too important. If he has a bad game (or even a bad half as we saw last week) they're in trouble.
Sometimes it's when players like that get injured that you actually start to play better as a team. I can't see Arsenal losing three on the trot myself. Unfortunately I think they'll do you this weekend, and the fickle papers will full of "Arsenal back on track to win the league" nonsence by Monday. -

I'm not sure that they will be better without him, it didn't happen last season. Then again, a lot of the players have matured since then I would think so it could happen.
I don't really like our chances anyway, even with Fabregas out I don't think we have much of a chance. We have practically an entire side out through injury. The biggest problem being upfront, we should have beaten Man Utd by about six goals! Weirdly though, it has been our youth players who have been playing the best and the experienced players who have been rubbish. -

Fitting, I suppose.
I would have thought it would be more fitting to have someone trolling as the last post
I do think Nasri is a good player but he doesn't control things quite the way Fabregas does. I guess we'll see though. I think the game is going to be won down the right hand side. Warnock has been a bit of a liability of late and that's no doubt going to continue on Saturday. -

Heh, I hadn't thought of that. That would be brilliant, maybe he'll even kiss the Villa badge -

:-D It's probably worth throwing some money at that outcome!
I'm really not sure what position Pires is going to end up in, Houllier has been talking about how Ashley Young should be back on the wing and not in the centre but that means Pires will be playing through the middle. Be interesting to see what happens. Oh and I just want Ireland to have one decent game to get himself going, he's becoming a bit of a scapegoat player but he shows in every match some wonderful touches, he just needs to get something going. -

We can play without Fabregas, no doubt - and have done many times in the past, so I don't agree with Kalel at all. But he's still our most important player and naturally we miss him when he's not there -

How can a thread break the forum, more info ? Did you take the easy option instead of fixing the forums.
Does this mean search will work, is that what had to happen?
Anyway, looking forward to the first teamlols of the new thread and all that. -
