| Alex Kidd is printed on my memory, Psycho Fox and Asterix are classic retro platforming games, and RType is possibly the best use of limited hardware I have ever seen on a console. |

In those days you usually had to rely on the pictures on the back of the box to decide whether to spend £30 or not. I remember buying "Cyber Shinobi" and being quite happy with it, although playing it recently, its absolute wank of a game. -

I think I just did a sex wee thinking about it. That was when I really enjoyed gaming. -
My best memory of the master system was getting a mega drive. -

Oh god Asterix, yeah! There was one bit in which was almost unbearably hard. You were on a small wooden platform that moved up and down in a zig zag motion, and you could only control it slightly, and there were spikes above and below you and you had to dodge them. Argh.
edit: This is it! I feel his pain.
Argh... the memories!
My mum once turned off the MS when I was on the very last level of Asterix. I was LIVID. -
Ghouls and Ghosts was great on the ms. Challenging but not impossible. -

Registered 16 years agoI've never played the Master System. Which is very weird because I owned and loved the Game Gear and Mega Drive. -

Registered 17 years agoI never owned a Master System myself but I always played it around at friends houses. My first and best game I played was Alex Kid (the one that was built into the console), brilliant game would love to play it again.
Always remember playing Tom and Jerry as well on my friends next door. Seem to remember it being ok. Don't really remember any others! -
In truth, they were shit. The NES was miles better, and that is coming from a Sega gayer. -

Registered 19 years agoY's and Wonderboy III were truly epic and wonderous titles.
In just about every other respect however, the Master System was a hateful console full of flickery fail. -

I loved Wonderboy in Monsterland, but thought The Dragon's Trap was poor.
Other favourites include Zillion, The Ninja, Castle of Illusion and Alex Kidd in High-Tech World (which I recently discovered wasn't a real AK game. Bombshell!)
Indiana Jones was infuriating.
