Luckily most Internet users have been downloading 'images' for years. We never really knew why we needed 50 gig of grot, but it turns out it was an important thing to do.

How's about ISPs having to list all porn sites accessed on each monthly bill. Seems less intrusive and puts the responsibility where it lies - with the adults.

Ah, the days of dial up with those modem jacker porn dial ups.

I don't want to have my porn blocked, but the thought of phoning up some call centre slag to ask for my porn to come back turns me on. Cus that's what she'll be whilst I'm pumping like crazy and telling her I don't have kids.

On the basis that this is a clear contravention of Article 8 ECHR, I wouldn't sweat this too much furtive jazz fans.

I'm more curious as to what it means for the websites. Presumably this is all done via some agency or other viewing the site and deciding that it contains porn. How are they deciding the classic question of "what is pornography"? What about mistakes? Is there going to be a legal recourse for lost trade, for example?

What happens about sites that serve ads or content from other sites? If an ad is porn, will they flag the originating site or the site they happen to have in the address bar?

What about large retailers that carry adult goods?

That amazon product is the kind of thing I'd find in the catalogue and take to the toilet as a kid. To look for trainers of course.

Oh well. I'll just have to get accustomed to the ultra softcore booty shaking videos on youtube. Sometimes it's actually quite steamy.

We should start building a list of FAP friendly youtube vids. I'll nominate this one.

Is there actually any real proof that children are being damaged by exposure to porn? If I were a parent I'd not want them seeing it, but I'm just wondering how much of this is real, and how much is media/political nonsense.
  • Deleted user 20 December 2010 00:20:50
Erm, they're not actually proposing to ban it or anything.

True. I mean, what could the damage be?

Boys wanting to give ass to mouth and girls expecting it. What's the problem?

I'm serious. Pornography doesn't pretend to model what actual relationships should be at all. Who cares what the next generation do to each other.

tbh I can't see how anyone can seriously say that exposure to some types of pornography isn't a wee bit dodgy for kids still developing.

I'm not saying it isn't - I'm just wondering if there's any proof?
