After the blistering end to the wii in 2010, the start of 2011 looks a little thin, there are a few games on the radar but they are hardly blockbusters, still what is everyone looking forward to? Mario Sports Mix is confirmed for the end of january, ill keep an eye on it but other than the fact it includes 5/6 sports and is made by square enix, theres not much else to go on. De blob 2, now multiplatform is another im looking forward too, lets hope they include save points during levels this time and hopefully theres enough to make it more than de blob 1.5, the inclusion of some 2d levels helps. Conduit 2, ill be honest, i purchased the first one, played the multiplayer for hours, thought the single player was average at best, but while the multiplayer was competent, it was laggy, too hard to find a game and in the end full of cheaters. The all seeing eye was a vastly underused, lets hope high voltage can pull of the complete package. Kirby's Epic Yarn, honestly where the hell is the PAL release? A 2d platfromer to rival perhaps Donkey Kong Country Returns, albeit easier from all reports? Zelda Skyward Sword, I quite like the new art direction the game is taking, a more focused story, imaginative dungeons and busy overworld would be enough for me. Ofcourse theres e3, but thats a long way away, lets hope nintendo throw in some first party announcements like pikmin 3, starfox and even f-zero would be nice. So what else are you guys looking forward to? |

Registered 11 years agoLooking forward to Kirby.
I have SMG2, Donkey Kong and others to keep me entertained though, I'll be fine. -
Better than the 360 at least!

Registered 11 years agoI'd love a new F-Zero too. Got my hopes up for that for years though. I've given up on it ever happening. -

February 25th in the EU. Presumably 'stralia will be around the same time?
In answer to the OP: nothing, sadly. Not even stoked for Zelda (assuming it makes 2011). -

You have lost your right in calling morriss a troll.

Just give us Pikmin 3 ffs! -
It would be cool if a follow up to dead space extraction came out, but I don't think the first one did that well... -

Kirby looks alright, I suppose. But doesn't look anywhere near worth a release purchase at full price.
De Blob 2 would be an insta-buy, if it wasn't multiplatform, as I loved the first. What's the point in the Wii version now though, when I could play it in hi-def and without the idiotic 'waggle' jump controls?
Never liked Zelda, despite giving the series numerous chances. So not at all interested in the Wii's 'big' game of the year.
Conduit 2 is going to be average at best. You all know it.
It's looking like a really crap year for the Wii this year unless you're a Zelda fan. Unless Nintendo make a shocking "SMG3 for Nov 2011!" announcement, or even for a Pikmin 3 release date for this year. -

Registered 16 years agoI'm sure Nintendo have a whole parade of £20 SNES ROMs lined up for us in 2011. Some of them may even come in boxes! -
Almost considered getting a wii recently. Thanks for the heads up on the upcoming release schedule, saved me a few quid! -

Agreed it has been a pain in the knob.
The ointment however was DK Returns. Gigantic meh of a year otherwise -
Kirby is alright, but it is definately on the easy side. Easy, but really good. One to play with a girlfriend or some one else who isn't as keen a gamer.
Without trying to sound like i'm stirring up trouble, since owning an 360, I can't say there are many more games on that console that interest me. If it weren't for the online, i'd be on my Wii a lot more often. -

Looks like a slow year, which will hopefully give me time to take on Okami and Super Paper Mario, both of which daily stare at me from my shelf. -

Registered 20 years agoI spent most of 2010 playing MHTri. (And RE:UC before that). Got Goldeneye for Christmas, so will be playing that early 2011 as well as more MHTri, then I have 2 Fire Emblem games to work through (GC and Wii).. -

Even in 720p SMG2 looks brilliant, well it also does at 480p tbf but the extra clarity at the higher res is beautiful. -

Still think they'll save it for the next console, or at least have it straddle both like TP did. -

Registered 14 years agoI think that would be a terrible idea, it looks like its been designed around the technical limitations of the wii.
Releasing another zelda title hamstrung by the previous console would ber a bad idea considering I'd wager anticipation for this next zelda is probably at a historical low in comparison to the last 5 major zelda releases. -

Registered 17 years agoGot a pre-order in for Kirby, will check out Zelda too but that'll be it for the year from me. I still need to get DKCR from 2010 too. -
I think this year's the year I pick up my own Wii. There was too much awesome stuff last year to ignore.
