Why you are still here, mowgli? You made your feelings plain enough. Do you have nothing better to do? -

Did you actually read my post, or are you just having some kind of monosynaptic reaction because I used a derogatory term for beasts?
He's 'aving a go at the animals now!
She's got 10+ of TV presenting under her belt including live stuff at Glastonbury, none of the men have much experience of unscripted TV or performance, and yet she's the one judged not worthy before we even know what her role in the show is.
I'm basing my opinion on the election night special, where lets face it she had least developed role. I'm not saying she's not "worthy," I've got a lot of respect for her. I'm just a bit cynical about what was behind the decision to include her. I'm in danger of slightly over-polarising this argument as it's not something I'm particularly angry about and I'll certainly be giving a go.
If they'd gone with, say, Sandi Toksvig (experienced, proven track record in comedy and satire, and an ugly lesbian), I wouldn't be making the same point, basically. See what I'm getting at?
I thought she was pretty good on the election night, it was a good team in my eyes, had chemistry with the others, seemed capable enough to me. I'm not sure Sandi Toksvig would have worked, different kind of style.
Your "boobies" comment was the least of all the things that irked me. I wasn't actually meaning to make a massive deal about it either, like I said, I briefly forgot where I was for a minute there. I'm not so hard up for things to do that I feel like taking on EG's gender issues. -

Registered 9 years agoFair enough ecu. Opinion expressed without resorting to casual sexism Job done.
edits: And that's it for me on this issue, it was just meant to be a slightly frustrated flip remark, not an opening salvo. I shall now go back to simply being quietly hopeful that it turns out to be a great programme that stops me being saddened by the scarcity of UK TV satire and leaves me envious of the USA for the Daily Show. -

Waxing lyrical about the choice of hosts seems one of the few things we can do about a show we know little about and doesn't start for another week! -

Mitchell: Good, but he's in everything and needs to go away for a bit
Brooker: Same as Mitchell
Laverne: I like her, but I can't see where she fits in here. Seems out of place

No. The kind of music you like reflects the kind of person you are, so it's a reasonable to make a judgement on how much you're likely to click with someone on the basis of the music they like.
You wouldn't think it shallow because you liked someone because you had similar taste in books, would you? Unless it was erotica. You pervert. Why do you hate women?
Or maybe it is shallow to *dislike* people because of their tastes, but ok to *like* people because of their tastes.... Hmmmm... -

PS: It starts on the 20th -
I can see this being all kinds of horrible. Carr's just annoying. I like Mitchell and Brooker but this may not suit them. I've nothing against Laverne but she's not really a comedian. -

Apart from when you're tackling gender politics, then you can be as sexist as you like and have people agree with you. -

ooh, ooh pick me! I has teh funnies -
Both.
Fuck Twitter, can't they just rip it out of the news anyway? Get Chris Morris in too, but try and keep it moderately serious. A teensy bit. -
