It is a great game, but this version is full of bugs. The van mission where you tail someone in a van full of chickens has an audio bug once it is completed. For the rest of the play through the sound of chickens clucking followed my character not matter what I did. Damn chickens. |

Registered 10 years agoTbh when this was announced I smelt nothing but "cheap cash in" saw we were selling it at work, picked up as it has a snazzy box (on inspection it looks like it contains one of the worlds smallest art books) saw the price was £50 and promptly put it back down. -

@ChiefGB
Just wondered who was charging that amount. Argos do have very strange prices. There game prices seemed to of been priced by a middle aged woman who used to work in the co-op and bear no relation to their competitors. I think they were asking £52 for Fifa 14 when i was in there this week -

Registered 10 years ago@northernlights actually they often have some of the best high street prices almost always better than game, that's for the ultimate edition which game charge like 60. Sleeping dogs though can go do one at that price. -

Registered 13 years agoI bought it on a whim, knowing full well what the reviews said about frame rate. Always loved it when it first launched so I'm hoping the framerate won't get in the way of enjoying it a second time. At least I knew about the problems before buying so it's my mistake if they do! -

Registered 14 years agoI picked this up for under £30, and I'm enjoying it. I never finished it the first time around (turns out having 3 young children doesn't let you play a lot of videogames, who knew?). I'm really enjoying it. Fantastic story too, much better than most other open world games of this kind.

Registered 11 years agoBumping an old thread but did they ever fix the issues on the PS4 version? I'd imagine they released some sort of update to help with things -

Registered 12 years agoI see the definitive version has had a massive drop on PSN. I haven't played the original in probably long enough that I could play through it again, but just to be safe, is the DLC any good? -

Registered 12 years agoLooking at the reviews, they seem average at best. Still tempted at that price though. -

Registered 8 years agoI bought the "Definitive Edition" at a discounted price earlier in the year. It's still a poor mans GTA 5. Depends how desperate you are for something new to play I guess. It's a perfectly functional game and serves it's purpose but when so many of it's competitors do the "open world thing" much, much better it's hard not to think "meh".
I'm told the story gets better as you play through, I've never finished it. I don't know if that is my fault for not being motivated enough or the games fault for not engaging me more. -

The original game came out a year before the last-gen version of GTA 5, so I say that's a bit unfair for SD to be compared to GTA5.
I still enjoyed Sleeping Dogs (in terms of story and it's more fun but not too wacky mechanics) more than GTA5 though, but GTA5 is still a great game.

Glad I'm not alone. I thought it was far more interesting than GTA. That was a bit bland from start to finish... okay, but nothing more. Sleeping Dogs kept me engaged from the off.

Registered 14 years agoJust finished this and I was pleasantly surprised by how good this was.
The graphics were nice, the story was very engaging and I had fun with the driving and cars.
Love the atmosphere as well as the characters.
If it wasn't for some dodgy frame rate and popup I would have scored it higher.

Registered 7 years agoI picked up Sleeping Dogs on PS4 back in December last year on a PSN sale. Thought it was decent enough, liked the story and the driving. Combat was impressive, always liked games which mix up gunfights and hand-to-hand combat.
The atmosphere of Hong Kong was very impressive, preferred the night as i believed it fitted the tone of the game more. -
Currently gathering some pocket money for the game. I'd get GTAV but I'm not allowed to play it, though I'm not particularly fond of the game myself. though I've heard very good things about the game, and I'm incredibly interested. Still wish I had a current gen console.
