It could be OK if they hand over scriptwriting duties to someone else.

Is anyone still interested in the matrix story? It got so shit I think my brain just stopped taking it in during the 3rd film.

Didn't he die at the end of the 3rd one or was that his girlfirend?

I can't really remember the sequels that well.

My vague memory of watchin the 3rd is Neo in a blindfold and lots of people shouting. To be honest I think it could use a re-imagining or reboot at this point, unless they detach Neo from his 'Sonic friends' and craft an entirely new story. 20 years later and Neo is played by Walter from Fringe or something.

    Movies that aren't needed:
    A 3rd Bill + Ted movie.
    The Matrix 4
    The Matrix 5
    The Matrix 2
    The Matrix 3

The only good bit about the 3rd movie is that bit where Keanu Reeves gets blinded.

It will be concentrated on a rogue faction of programs that doesnt want the status quo anymore.

Basically, shadows of the empire with Keanu as Luke Skywalker.

But to get to that point we had to endure that guy doing a terrible agent smith impression.

I never actually saw the 2nd and 3rd, though I thought the 1st was great. I kind of feel I missed out now as I can't join in with the bitching there is about them but I'm buggered if I'm giving them a go now with the amount of hate they get.

So yeah, I'll give these a wide berth too, I think.

I think at the end of the 3rd film it was something about the matrix restarting from scratch and it all being a little bit pointless

    ..

Perfectly happy with them doing this as long as they do it right.

Also, Reloaded wasn't as bad as all that.

Revolutions however was a crusty, flattened dog turd with another crusty, flattened dog turd on top of it and a mouldy cow pat in the middle.

I think the point was that there was peace and all the people in Zion didn't die. Personally I didn't mind the sequels that much but I know I'm very much in the minority there.

The Matrix universe can actually be quite interesting (see the Matrix comics or Animatrix) but I'm not particularly interested in more neo/jesus/superman.

If you take away the expectations that came with 2 and 3 they aren't that bad. They are average action flicks. Better than the last transformers atleast.

The only good thing about the sequels was Monica Bellucci in that dress.
  • Deleted user 24 January 2011 09:51:15
They aren't unwatchably bad, they are just a massive let down because the first is so good. They are still worth a laugh.

    What silentbob said.

They've probably been knocking a load of ideas around since the last one got released, so it could be that they've come up something decent.

20 mins of 3D in a tube station discussing karma is not the way to go with this.

Oh fuck no. I actually thought The Matrix was shit from the start. The second and third were beyond bad though, to a point where they thought "we made a fucking shit first film but still everyone lapped it up, let's make another two and see if the dumb-ass public will lap that shit up too"

Great... Another cheesy Zion Rave, now in 3D...

If they make this as good as the original Matrix it could be epic, but i know that they will make it suck..!

Was the second one where we had to sit there bored for five minutes while watching a load of people dancing to music in a cave?

Nah you are wrong there. The first is a good movie.

Its actually worth giving them a go. They arent eye gougingly bad, they are just a bit shit but still worth a watch just for some of the action sequences.

It's really not. Style over substance. And I thought that after I watched it in 1999. It's not like my opinion changed after the sequels. And I'm right, because I'm feeling grouchy this morning. So I just am, OK!
