Great band. I was gutted when I found out that they had reformed for a few gigs which had completely passed me by; Lincolnshire FTW! I got my Mineral vinyl reissues last week and they are beautiful. I can't wait to see them next year! |

Registered 14 years ago@BillMurray They just announced some more dates as it sold out so quickly, on sale tomorrow from 12pm. Annoyingly, I'm going to be stuck in a meeting at the time...

Registered 17 years agoGonna try (again) for Leeds tickets tomorrow. Love matinee shows!
Annoyingly, according to AF Facebook page despite selling out in hours there's loads of show tickets on resale sites. Fuck dem scalping cunts. I was into these guys from back in the day, man. -

I saw that post pop up on their Facebook page. Annoyingly i'm without a phone at the moment so hopefully I can get a friend to get a ticket for me unless I can get onto a PC at work. Fingers crossed for a Leeds ticket anyway.

Registered 13 years agoCompletely missed the tickets at lunchtime because PayPal was being a little bitch about where I was logging in from but luckily someone from the Facebook page had some spare tickets so I managed to bag a pair for the matinee show at the Brudenell. Sorted! Excited! -

It's not all bad, though, as there is new Raein: http://www.raein.eu/#section_main/1 -

Registered 13 years ago@thelzdking Bloody hell! That's pretty unfortunate. This'll be the first time i've seen them I think. Shame you're gonna miss it.
Not listened to Raein in ages. I'll give that a try. -

Registered 12 years agoYeah, I'm a bit gutted about missing them again, but never mind. Boys Life have reformed for some gigs, and they are going to reissue Departure and Landfalls. I wouldn't expect them to come to the UK though.
The new Raein is really good. It seems a little bit slower than a lot of their recent stuff.
Remember to post a full run-down of the American Football gig! -

Registered 14 years agoJust got home from seeing American Football for the first time. Normally I try and temper my expectations for this sort of thing, but that wasn't happening and they certainly didn't disappoint. That was every bit as amazing as I'd expected. -

Registered 13 years agoFor anyone that missed American Football last time round, they're on a 3 day fest in Bristol in August. The lineup looks properly ace. I'm looking forward to seeing Totorro, Floral and Toe just as much as American Football.

Registered 17 years agoYeah, not as good as The Green Acre though, right?
Thoughts on the new American Football? I'm not that impressed tbh. It's OK but that first LP was so much of a time it's impossible to top. -

Registered 13 years ago@richardiox AG&R released that record at the peak of my youth I think so I have quite fond memories of that time. Think I only caught Green Acre a handful of times when I first started going to local gigs. Might have to dig through my mp3s and see if i've got any of their stuff still.
Not managed to have a listen of the American Football record yet. I've got my copy sat somewhere at my Mums so I'm gonna pick it up and have a listen tomorrow. -
