Wouldn't it be nice if we could get them early? -

Registered 13 years agoReally been put off the 3DS with all the string of things that Nintendo have done to make it sound worse and worse as launch approaches.
Going to this on Saturday in London to see if I can regain any enthuisiasm and maybe think about buying it again. -
Godspeed! -

Will jumping on their heads do the trick? -

No, that's what you have to avoid having them do to you; all you have to do is touch them, at which point they'll keel over and die. -

Registered 12 years agoi just got a reminder email, don't remember getting the original one... anyway, i applied but its annoying and antisocial that you can't take someone with you (my other half will not be thrilled if midway through the weekend i say you just wait in starbucks for half an hour or so...) -

Registered 12 years agothe london one is full so i don't think that is going to be a damp squid or squib. however, it might be damp as light rain is predicted.
i'm not that hyped for the 3ds but am intrigued to see the 3d in action... although suspect that, however effective it is or isn't, as soon as i see Zelda i'll be sold -

A squib is a small firework. So a damp squib is a firework that doesn't explode, hence dissapointing. -
It is squib. -

Will we queue for 45 minutes and get 5 minutes on a console or do you actually get a decent try? -

I'm expecting 100 of them in the place and the tickets limited to 100 people per session.
I ain't doing none of that queuing shit! -

Registered 14 years agoI don't think we have just 30 minutes inside, its just to sort out the Queuing so not everyone turns up at 8am like the Eurogamer expo. As far as I understand it they will utilize the whole spaces used from the 2008 eurogamer expo. so room should not be an issue, at least I hope not.
Also some people won tickets from Future publishing would be a bit much to say you won tickets for just 30 minutes inside go enjoy and knock your self out with 3D blowing you away, nah can't be just 30 minutes. Me thinks its as said before to spread out the entrance que into the building.
I would like official word on that but makes sense, I've been to exhibitions before with time slots each half hour. I don't think it mentions were limited to 30 minutes.
Going by the new york event 5000 3DS units are going to be around pre release and at the New york event I heard there were ten or so games on show. 10 games in 30 minutes nah can't be done we need 5 minutes per game at least. also don't forget we want to make mii of each other with the camera and other native non game software 3DS has like camera and mii maker, and face merger thing. at least two hours is needed ; ) I want to upload my mii -
Well I went to Birmingham today. The general impressions:
The 3D is pretty good, although prolonged use of it may strain your eyes. Mine felt funny after 45mins or so on the various demo 3DS's.
The submarine game is pretty good, if a tad gimmicky. There's only so much you can do with that premise I suppose.
The racing game (can't remember what it was called) is utter turd. Terrible pop-in and the 3D effect juddered a couple of times when I played and the car seemed to glitch a bit too.
Super Street Fighter 4 looked amazing, however my main concern was in the control. I play a fair bit of the 360 version and pulling off some of the moves using either the D-Pad or stick seemed trickier than normal, and yes as EG stated if you move the 3DS too much the illusion is shattered.
Zelda looked great, they've improved some of the textures and the 3D gives it a breath of fresh air. I'd be willing to play through it again in 3D.
Augmented Reality is pretty weird, if gimmicky again. The 3DS camera scans a card and then creates a game from the card. You'd look a tit attempting to play this outdoors.
Nintendogs and Cats was pretty good, if just Nintendogs with... ...well... ...cats. The graphics were pretty impressive and definitely a huge step up from the DS/DSi.
Oh and guys, get ready for Resi 4 and Street Fighter live action. Yes, it's as bad as it sounds.
Also, the music used in the advert sounds like Boys Don't Cry by the Cure but altered just enough to void copyright infringement.
