Registered 16 years agoThis any good now? I watched a few eps of the first season a couple of years ago and hated it. Wasn't funny at all. -
It is brilliant. -

Registered 16 years agoThe first season is mediocre, but it just keeps getting better after that. Ron is the best character on TV. -

Registered 14 years agoIs it better than that godawful "let's say every sentence in a gooooofy manner, because that's what comedy is entirely about" Happy Endings? -

Registered 11 years agoSo without any kind of fanfare at all... Parks and Recreation finally is being shown in the UK, Wednesday nights on BBC 4. It started last week but you can get the first two episodes on iPlayer. -

massively underwhelmed by this. felt like the same joke as the office, but with a neurotic blonde rather than David Brent.

Registered 10 years agoIt improves a lot, I'd say. I love it (and Ron and Tom are excellent). It settles down when Rob Lowe and Adam Scott turn up in the second series. -

Registered 7 years agoWatched the first four episodes of this on iPlayer and it's, well, crap. At least that seems the common opinion. I was worrying I was missing something, since it seems right up my street. -

Registered 7 years agoYeah, season 1 was not good. Season two though is fantastic. Was not a fan of Leslie at all during season 1, she doesn't change all that much but for some reason I found her a lot less annoying, probably because everyone else just ramps up their likeability to compensate.
Love Andy and Ron. Glad to see less of Mark in season two though -

I love Parks and Rec, it's easily one of the best things on TV for me. -

Registered 12 years agoI re-watched a few of the first season on BBC4 and the whole tone of it seems like a different show. Still loving the new episodes though. -

Registered 11 years agoIt's because Greg Whatshisname came over from The US Office to take over running the show, and the increase in quality is massively noticeable. -

Registered 7 years ago@TarickStonefire Community is amazing. Especially the first two seasons, and the third was still amazing. It started of as a TV show that wanted to try new things and be all nerdy and not be a generic sitcom. Unfortunately for parts of the third and so far in the fourth season it's stopped doing that and started trying to be "Community" which makes it a bit insufferable. I personally love it though, flaws and all.
Glad Mark left, really stood out as the obvious weak character. Mid way through season 3 and it's nice to see Leslie changing from "Complete nut-job with terrible ideas" to "Neurotic but good at her job". Was really worried that she was just female Brent at first. -

Registered 11 years agoWhy don't more people love this show?
Oh and for those who care, Season One and Two came out on DVD over here on Monday. No news on if/when BBC 4 will start showing Season Three sadly. -

Idiots (most of the population) need a laughtrack in their comedy to let them know when something is funny. -

Registered 16 years agoI can't watch this. I've tried so many times to get through season 1 but it's so terribvle, unfunny and cringey. I don't get it! I should love this show, it's definitely my type of show, but it's just shit. I'm so tempted to ditch s1 and just start from season 2 as I usually do when I watch Star Trek TNG -
Season 1's only 6 episodes of less than half an hour each. Given how many hours of broken anime you've watched, surely you should be able to get through 2.5 hours of attempted comedy.
Personally I quite like season 1. In some ways it's more of a pilot for series 2 and some of the characters aren't fully developed, but the characters that are there work really well IMO, and it sets up the pit/park concept which the whole show hangs off really.
