Who else has preordered this bugger or is getting it at launch and what games are you getting? Im getting quite excited about it now even though theres not a game I really want at launch! Anyway, Im getting the black one and splinter cell, which will probably be shit but you never know! I might give Nintendogs a try and will probably have a bash on Street fighter even though Im not that big a fan |

You pre-ordered why exactly? -

Registered 13 years agoBecause Im a sucker for a new gadget and if I dont get it Ill be pining for one.
Even if I didnt get one at launch Id get one eventually so it might as well be sooneer rather than later.
Anyway the AR stuff looks quite good -

Registered 16 years agoI'm glad you're excited INSOMANiAC, but I have to echo Psychotext's sentiments that your first post didn't really convey your reasoning well. I think I get where you're coming from now though - you'd walk past shops selling them and think "I wish I'd got one!".
It is a lovely piece of kit, even without other games it's all very nice - I saw you commented on the unboxing so I can see why you're enthusiastic! It is a nice gadget indeed, even on it's own you've got a couple of games and a 3D camera. Bit pricey for just that, but the games will still be there when you want them, and it'll be updated with the Virtual Console and browser soon enough. -

Registered 13 years agoTheres also the fact you can play old DS games with the analogue stick, they obv arent designed for it but mario 64ds using it looked a lot better and itll be good to play Mariokart DS with a joystick -

So do I, but I have no sense so that's not hard.

What an odd comparison, clearly you enjoy 'man cum' more than some of us...... -

Registered 13 years agoIm preordering aswell. All the vids from japan this weekend has got me pretty hyped. I have only got Nintendogs preordered so far and really thats for the girlfriend as shes dog mad and we live in a rented flat. Managed to order it for ~£23 combining Tescos 20%sale with a £5 off voucher.
I am looking forward to having a go at all the inbuilt stuff and my old dslite broke so I have some DS games that I havent played in a while. I am going to wait for reviews and probably pick up one more launch title. SSF4 and PES are tempting, I own other versions but the new angles look good and being portable is convinient. -

Registered 11 years agoI've preordered and having seen it instore and played with it I'm really looking forward to it. I have traded various games etc towards it which should cover the cost of the console and then I'll at least be able to pick up a couple of games. Pilotwings is definite, but yo-yoing between Nintendogs, Street Fighter IV and Ridge Racer (not sure why I want this but there you go) -

Registered 17 years agoI was so excited about the original DS phat, pre-ordered, and then didn't have anything worth playing for MONTHS (ohhai Yoshi's Tech Demo DS) so not going to be burned by that again. still plan to get one eventually. -

Registered 14 years agoI've ordered one for my son. He turns 7 a week after release. His current DS is an original fat and we've resisted all the other upgrades over the years. Will pick up Pilotwings. -

Registered 15 years agoHmm. Starting to think I should maybe wait. None of the launch games really excite me except Street Fighter, which I have recently admitted to myself that I am utterly, utterly shit at and have no hope of every understanding it.
My current DSL is sitting gathering dust, there's about 6-7 games that I know I want to get for it...maybe I should just play them first, wait another 6 months and pick up a 3DS when the library picks up...
Plus, am about to move out the family home (finally!) and so am preparing to be horrifically skint... -

Mine too! Well 4 days after release.... Luckily being 7, their eyes won't burst out of their sockets with the 3D effect. -

I moved out of the family home about a year and half ago, horrifically skint is probably a good description. Thankfully fixed term on my mortgage ends May/June, should be at least £200+ a month better off; still not going to grab a 3DS then, though, probably wait until November when some company shares come through and hopefully a better selection of games by then. -
@DaM, I hope not. I take it these things have been extensively tested in sweat shops.
