I'm hoping the end scene pans out and we see Macumber sat on his throne trying to pinch one off.

Was discussing the season with a friend, couple of ideas came up that would have made things feel a bit better.

Brienne should probably have died on the Long Night. her arc was fulfilled quite satisfyingly, and if she'd died Jaime might have more motivation to back to Kings Landing, and we wouldn't her last scene be of her crying over Jaime, which just feels like a disservice to her. It would also help satisfy those who felt there weren't enough named characters dying.

Bron's story should just be removed. He should be singing "Up On the Roof" on the roof of his castle drinking ale.

Rhaegar should not have been shot by a magcially appearing fleet. If he'd been shot by the scorpions mounted on the walls it would have added some dramatic tension to the siege, and would have helped justify Danys rage. It would also mean we avoided the whole stealth fleet nonsense.

A few small tweaks that would have improved things a bit.

Wouldnt be perfect of course, but would be better I think

My prediction for the final episode:

Dany sits on the Iron Throne, murders everyone who gets in her way/betrayed her, defeats the army that has rallied around Jon, torches Winterfell.
What’s left of The Seven Kingdoms bend the knee.

    The end.

80 minutes of blood, smoke, death and misery.

My prediction: Bran is tortured by hellish visions, and wakes up into the real world, where he's sitting in a New Jersey diner with his parents and sister. A song by Journey is playing, and just as he looks up at the door, fade to black et fin

Jon kills Dany and then becomes a Lumberjack in the "real" north with his wildling friend dexter. Ghost becomes King of the North

Samwell sees all the messed up stuff happening and thinks "fuck this"

Cue montage scene, where he works out ala rocky. Complete with hearts on fire from Rocky iv (the one with the russian)

Fast forward 6 months later to a buffed up Sam and he proceeds to fuck everyone up. Roadhouse kicking the shit out of John, Dany and anyone else stupid enough to get in his way. Then he sits on the throne eating fish fingers chips and beans while Dany and Cersei (yes she survived) blows him.

That's actually pretty much the only ending which will quench the neckbeards thirst for vengeance

I have really liked this season, but those three main changes you mentioned are significant improvements, I have to admit.

Brienne should have died unless tonight has some important role for her. If her final scene is her crying it's a waste.

Bronn, yep could have just left him out or killed him last season rather than keep him on just because it's a popular character.

Rhaegar was heavily injured but yeah could have killed him in a better way.

    And hug Ghost.

Weird that people complain about open / loose endings when that is exactly the supposedly lost approach of earlier series. Characters following their path as their motivations lead them.

Danny is going to redeem herself by killing her self by having the dragon eat her.

So a miserable ending with quite a long epilogue showing that it's not so bad (Nothing really sorted out but Jon and Dany dead, Brienne setting off North, Arya going to Gendry, etc., etc.) feels like on option.

Brienne will be the new kingslayer. Jaime passing on his mantle and all that, making her a knight. Dany will threaten Sansa or actually kill her and bob's your proverbial.

Arya kills Dany which causes the Dany fans to have an even bigger meltdown than last week

Drogon tries to burn Jon but it doesn't work. Rather than killed Dragon is sent far east and it's discovered other dragons live far from man

Jon goes back north to be with the wildlings

No ruler but 7 independent kingdoms like before

    Tyrion gets Casterly Rock

Arya heads West for new lands

Bronn gets Highgarden but finds the life dull

Sam writes A Song of ice and Fire

    Brienne stays with Sansa

Bran is the night king or lord of light

    Internet rage no matter what

Oh, I've got it. They'll do a X-Factor like scenario where viewers phone in to vote for the person who will sit on the Iron Throne at the end. THAT'S why the filmed multiple endings.

Then when there is Internet rage they can blame the public instead.

It'll be a choose-your-own-adventure episode, but the canon ending involves Bran warging into Drogon in order to eat Dany and make sweet love to other dragons, who it turns out secretly exist. Meanwhile everyone dies of tuberculosis. Bran succumbs to a virulent reptile STI. Podrick becomes king. Bronn gets diabetes. Amidst the rubble of KL, Cersei's hand twitches. Roll credits

My thinking is that Bronn will end up as king after jumping out from behind the iron throne and stabbing Dany just as she's about to sit down. That'll happen in the first twenty minutes with the rest of the episode being a showcase for Robson and Jerome's new album (featuring Ed Sheeran).

They’re fairly clearly setting it up so Jon Snow is forced to kill Dany, then he’ll abdicate and give the throne to someone depressingly predictable like Tyrion or Bran. They’ve clearly run out of ideas on how to close up plot lines.

I'm misremembering the sequence of events already. Probably a bad sign
