Favourite Led Zeppelin album?
-
-
Anything from Led Zep I - Physical Graffitti I suppose. None of those albums as a whole do much for me, but each has at least one iconic song on it. At a push as it is one I have been enjoying recently Houses of the Holy.
edit: Also awaiting delivery of The Song Remains The Same (remastered) so could be that next week. -

I like III being, like Cali, a huge fan of the folky stuff. -

Get 'When The Levee Breaks' on ASAP.
You'll thank me. -
This prompted me to listen to III on my way into Uni this morning. Bron-Y-Aur-Stomp is a work of sublime genius.
Also, the version of Gallow's Pole on Unledded is fucking incredible.
Hurdy-gurdy ftw! -

+1
When I was at uni we used to get wasted in a mate's room in hall (with a towel at the bottom of the door) and this was always on the turntable, never got changed. We just kept turning it, listened to it over and over. When I moved in with my friend into her house we got a massive poster of the sleeve art that entirely covered one wall on the landing. We'd probably be arrested for that now :/ -

It's also what I'd give Presence out of 10.

Presence has Achilles Last Stand on it, though, which has gotta make it worth more than 3/10 by itself.
I'd go for Physical Graffiti myself, as it's got The Wanton Song (and I love that riff), and Custard Pie and The Rover (in addition to the obvious ones like Kashmir). -
1 or 2 for me. Seems to be a bit bluesier (made up word) -
Yeah, but the bluesiest song they played was Since I've Been Loving You, from III. -

If the thread was called "which Led Zep album has your favourite song on it" then I would have answered III

40 years ago today, IV was released.
Quite fancy listening to it, if I hadn't pawned it long ago.
