And I see they are doing another DLC afterwards, which has VR support!

Have they fixed the input lag issues on console?

Still not played Prey so quite glad that the DLC doesn't look my cup of tea from the trailer (well designed single player is of more interest to me than 'endlessly replayable' with randomness.

@Theninjagecko I platinumed the game on a PS4 Pro and haven't noticed any higher-than-usual lag.

It was awful when it came out, I couldnt hit anything but the same was true for Dishonoured 2. they were the only games I've noticed what felt like 300ms input lag. I stopped playing both because of it.

I'll have to try it again. Is the moon DLC free ?
  • Deleted user 11 June 2018 13:48:42
The New Game+, Story mode and Survival modes are free, Moon DLC is paid (£13 on steam, £16 on PSN)

Might grab the DLC soon, just beat the game over the weekend and really enjoyed it (And this sounds a bit different, was just expecting a chunk of story content like Death of the outsider)

Ugh, this Mooncrash DLC is EXACTLY the sort of thing I'm a sucker for. Was under the impression the game didn't do well enough to justify DLC, now there's updates and new DLC out the butt. Gonna have to blast through the campaign, this DLC sounds just like Risk of Rain.

Only wanted to check out the new patch real quick, and a moment later I was already 1.5h into my NG+ playthrough.

Upon loading it up to check out the new stuff, unless my eyes are deceiving me, I think this has been patched on the X. Nice!

Had a bit of blast on Mooncrash. It's quite cool so far. New environment but the stuff in it is randomised each time. There's 5 crew members and your goal is to unlock them all, and then have all 5 of them survive in a single run.

If one dies, you can just move onto another crew member to try and unlock stuff (things like fabrication plans stay learned) or earn credits, or reset the simulation. Continuing on will make a sort of timer continue to tick up (you can slow it down/rewind it) which basically makes the game harder as it goes.

Each crew member has different skill trees to spend neuromods on. Before you go in as one you can spend points on bringing extra starting gear in.

    Seems good.

Can you switch between them at will, or only when one dies/escapes?

Bought it on impulse having not even started the base game, love roguelite stuff like this.

    Only when one dies/escapes.

So you start the simulation, pick a character (only one is available at the beginning) then away you go.

If you unlock another one, you can then switch to them after you are successful or die.

If you reset the simulation you can then start with any of your unlocked characters.

Gotcha, cheers. Can't wait to dig in, but presumably I'll need to finish the campaign first in case of spoilers so knowing me, might be a while.

Just completely finished moon crash. Great fun. 14 hours of fun gameplay. Could maybe do with a difficulty setting to make it harder. Wasn't easy at all but certainly wasn't overly challenging.

I encourage you all to watch Annihilation with Natalie Portman, you might recognize Alex Morgan's voice :)

Noticed that the digital deluxe version of this is currently £7.99 on the ps store at the moment. Assume picking it up at that price is a no brainer for someone who is a fan of arkane's other work and enjoyed the bioshock, deus ex series?

Only thing that is making me hesitate is my growing to-play list (still not completed RDR2 that I got for last xmas). I imagine this game and the mooncrash dlc are going to be another time sink for a middle-aged man with too much money and too little gaming time.

@glo Itís a big commitment, but worth it. The Mooncrash dlc is great, too.

@glo In terms of a modern experience, this is by far the best of the immersive sim genre you can play right now. It's far more true to the genre than something like bioshock but better balanced and with better quality of life than the classics like System Shock 2.

Skip RDR and play this ;)

Yeah it's very much worth it. Hmm. That's a good price. I never played the DLC...

    Yeah get it.

    I missed the dlc too...

And apparently 1 year ago I posted in here that it was getting vr support. Is that actually real or was I imagining it?

As someone who platinumed the game, I can only recommend it. One of the best games of the last few years, probably in my top 5. One of the most rewarding experiences was playing the game without any upgrades.

Skip RDR2, who cares about fucking horses.

Yeah, you will get your money's worth. It's a bit janky, the "open world" is a pain in the arse to navigate and the enemies aren't great, but the design, story and atmosphere make up for it.

Cheers for the responses guys. Will add it to my pile of shame. At £7.99 it would be rude not to.

Some horse fuckers might, but apart from that yeah.

The game is great. Tell you what: get it and play it immediately. I played nothing else earlier this year after I got it. Not platinumed, but wouldn't mind.

@quadfather - Looking at the digital deluxe version details it states:

"Also included is TranStar VR- An immersive single player VR-only campaign."

I assume this is the VR support you heard about?

Don't think there was ever a VR-only campaign but they did release a couple of VR 'escape rooms'. I only ever did the first one (PSVR).

"This campaign puts you in the shoes of various TranStar employees as you complete objectives and solve intricate puzzles on Talos I."

erm yeah, calling it a campaign is a bit of a stretch imho.
