So tempted to pick this up. Prey was flipping brilliant. Could do with a new play through.

Never played through it and 7.99 is a bit of a steal but I remember the demo feeling very sluggish.

The demo sold the game to me so maybe itís a new version? That said itís not a fast game by any reckoning.

Quite possibly. Mind you it wouldn't have the dlc I'll wager. About to give in...

Cheers for the heads up, just bought this as I traded my physical copy in a while back and always regretted it. Looking forward to another playthrough and having a go at Mooncrash.

Yup it was, but that was sorted in the main release

Is this the one Worth A Buy keeps going on about. I assume so.

The sluggishness thing seemed to get blown way out of proportion. The game was amazing, shame people missed it because the ill informed internet moaned.

'Sorted' is generous. Its still like playing through a layer of treacle.

(which is one of the reasons I took no Xeno upgrades. I poured everything into engineering and let the turrets fight all my battles)

I honestly didn't notice any sluggishness and spent most of the initial moments of my playthrough wondering what everyone was moaning about. I was the same with Dishonored 2. Mind you, I played both games VERY slowly, inching and stealthing my way around, so I probably wouldn't have noticed. I presume the experience was different trying to play either game in a more combatative fashion.

Therefore if you play it very much as a stealth game it's okay. I think.

I think you had to change the sensitivity in the main game too, come to think about it.

Or maybe I'm in the same bout as wunty and didn't notice it because I played it slow too.

    Dunno. Ace game though.

I didn't notice any lag on my 3 stealth playthroughs on a PS4 Pro either.

I think on my 7th playthrough I felt a bit of lag.

Turned out it was just cramp.

On my 8th lag, lag and then lag. But surprisingly no lag. But there was lag

But, srsly, I think the literal input lag was largely sorted but the controls still felt a bit vague and unresponsive and very much like Dishonored 2, so I don't know if its a deliberate design choice or a quirk of the engine they use, but it very much prejudices your choices against balls out action as the game cant cope with it.

As I say, its a great game, its just that Arkane seem to have a habit of pumping out things that control like shit.

Was it arkane that did arx fatalis? That was jangly as fuck with the controls. Again, was a good game etc but you'd get stuck on tiny rocks etc

It was indeed. That takes me back... Is that the one that you used your mouse to control your hand when drawing spell signs out or something? It was rough as hell but great.

I never noticed any lag either on PC. Did get hit by the save corruption bug though

Yup, that's the one. I still have it somewhere. Great game! Loads of little secret places that made you scratch your head until you worked out how to get there like using levitate spells before they ran out and you fell.

/Relives yet more nostalgic falls of doom.

Itís not a fast game though, is it? Can you actually play it like a shooter? I remember I was just running through everywhere by the end of it, not bothering to engage any enemies. I donít remember ever thinking there was something wrong with the controls.

I don't actually think I finished it but I got pretty far. The map wasn't overwhelmingly huge but full of detail, I loved the premise, all these underground towns and cities etc.

Arx fatalis? No, not at the start. Later on when you're super powerful is a different story as you just whack fuck out of everything but it's not a super fast shooter type of thing, it's a medium paced action RPG
