They give you more experience too! It's pretty great.

And honestly, not that much harder.

    Haha wolves pockets :D

I just had an awesome fight in that narrow gully on the way to bluemoon tower with loads of bandits. I was taking pot shots at the ones up high, theyd land, take heavy damage from that, only to then see humans hammer smash them in the face. I was smiling throughout that fight !

Ok, next quest is the main dragon one. But when does the city centre turn into the wormhole, I can't remember? That's afterwards isn't it?

Anyway, went to bbi (am level 41 I think) and checked out the first enemies - the black wolves. Doable, but can already feel the difficulty creeping up.

Will see how it goes I think. The only other quests I have are random kill X of these things, though the map isn't fully explored yet, which upsets my ocd.

Cool, so I could go and do it and open the everfall up. Cheers.

I'm a tad drunk though so this could be interesting.

You're going to be outleveling my pawn soon. :(

I just don't have the time atm, so busy with work and departure preparations and such.

@quadfather Are you playing this on the telly mate ? Just wondering how it translates to a handheld.

@Blackmarsh63 Iím playing both. Tv is HD and 46Ē and it looks great. Handheld you get lower resolution obviously so Iím aware that on TV Iíd see detail in the distant mountains rather than a smudge.

Pop up occurs in both modes (items and bushes etc pop up later than youíd see them in reality) but is a bit worse in handheld. Frame rate on tv is pretty locked to 30fps most of the time but itís not a locked in handheld, therefore in boss fighter Iíve seen the odd judder.

That said, it plays well on handheld. Bit of a battery guzzler (2 hours gaming just over), but with headphones in, Iíve lost myself over a few lunchtimes at work and enjoyed it.

@GuybrushFreepwood Thanks for all that. I'll stick it on my buy list. I'm desperately wanting a Switch but the rumors of a refresh are making me hold off.

Yeah I'm using it 100% docked and everything is cool. The only difference I can spot is there is a slightly longer loading time when you rest at an Inn and it has to sync your pawn status with the server, but we're talking 10-15 seconds and that's it. Runs perfect.

Time to earn a gold idol. I researched the quest beforehand so as not to fuck it up, but I'm still nervous. This is worse than a boss fight.

@Mola_Ram I always settle for the silver one because of it.

    Good luck!!

    Got it!

Phwoar it's expensive to make a forgery of it though.

Good going. You'll have to let us know what difference the silver/gold does to Caxton's wares

Weapons. Lots of shiny weapons. Reynard seems to be selling new things too. And the forgery gives me a good discount! I got some lightning daggers and a better longbow (currently trying Ranger).

Though Madeline still wants an idol as well. Maybe I'll grab the silver one for her.

    Cool, that's useful to know.

Out of interest, how are you finding the Ranger? (It's my fav)

@quadfather It's a good class. Sometimes I just want to sit back and spam arrows. And I like that I can still use my favourite assassin move with it (the dashing slash).

But overall, my number one is still Strider. That helm splitter move is absolutely mental, and you can still get most of the benefits of a bow.

    @Mola_Ram

Yeah I know what you mean about the strider. I don't think I used the helm splitter skill. Maybe I should check it out.

But I just cannot play without ten fold flurry and dire arrow - they're the kind of skills where when it goes mental, you just bring them out as the big guns

Note to self: don't go to the canyon at night time again.

/has flashbacks to "that place" in Dark Souls

On the plus side, Human now has an extremely large hammer and is pushing 1k strength.

Everywhere at night is terrifying, I love it :)

Cool, time to rehire human by the sounds of it!

I'm having fun with Magic Archer at the moment, I think I was a Strider before so essentially I've just gained magical powers, including the neat leap-and-fireball skill which I use all the time.

Also here's some screenshots. The first is my team from a couple of nights again. Me front and centre, my main pawn Amber back in darkness for some reason, the mage on the left had an unbearably high-pitched voice but was really good in a fight, the warrior on the right was good too and had a permanently fire buffed sword and sword.

The other two I thought just looked dramatic :D fighting a griffin and then a cyclops.

    Good stuff.

Also, who is Gilly's main? She is a sorcerer that I'm using that has this absolutely mental spell that looks like what can only be described as a massive, dark, twisting maelstrom. It's totally bonkers.

    @quadfather maelstrom

I found it super useful for the less mobile enemies. They would just stand there and get ripped to shreds by it.

    And done...

Aside from BBI obviously. Iím now in NG+. There were some unexpected things on the way which Iíll not go into so the surprise isnít ruined. Good game, not convinced by mystic knight and itís magical ping pong, but the game itself was a lot of fun and didnít outstay itís welcome. Iíve still quite a lot of the map to explore and will probably do that as another class... and taller...and a brunette maybe...

    Was level 46 I think.

    Good stuff.

The start of Ng+ is strange isn't it.

Still can't get my head around what I'm going to do next. I'm in bbi at early 40's which isn't the wisest move, but I'm trying to get some decent kit until I get fucked over. That's my really intelligent plan anyway.
