While I'm all in, can I just add that I found The Wire inconsistent and underwhleming at times. And Breaking Bad was ok.

I see Taskmaster has finally run out of steam. Curiously, it coincides with Lee Mack making an appearance.

I am sure the two are unrelated.
Saw an interview with yer one that invented the show (the scoring guy) and they see Lee Mack as their crowning glory, they've finally scored him on the show, what a scoop, he's amazing, etc etc.

And yet he's the reason I won't be bothering with this series.

I fail to see the appeal of lee mack either. His ongoing career is a mystery to me.

As is the fact that 8 out of 10 cats is still going in any form at all.

I probably avoided it if I saw he was in it tbh, his panel show and that not going out shite would have put me well off.

    Phillip K Dick's Electric Dreams (S1)

Considering the source material this was initially quite disappointing, but as a sci-fi anthology show it's not awful. There's some good stories here, but the execution falls flat, but kept me interested enough to keep watching.

    6/10

Iím about halfway through Lovecraft Country and after a stellar start itís losing me. Does it pick up again? It feels way too anthology-show like for me, each episode, bar the first two, are new stories with little connection to previous ones beyond the characters. Nothing inherently wrong with that but Iím not feeling like it works here. The ďIndiana Jones below the museumĒ stuff was just crap.

Yes, it all sort of coalesces at the end. It did nearly lose me at the Corea episode but it does come back pretty strong in the end.

I did feel pretty much the same. It comes out of the traps so hard for the first two episodes, when it switches gears to almost an anthology show it's tough to stay onboard.

    Snowpiercer S1

I'm amazed I eventually finished this, starts off with a great premise but it's almost comically bad. The writing, dialogue, acting, special effects are all shit and it's full of inconsistencies and illogic. Doubt I'll bother even trying S2.

    3/10

Iím on the Corea episode right now. Whatís fun is that HBO just introduced audio description as language tracks, and because this doesnít actually have an English track it defaulted to it and I was greeted with a monotone description of the HBO static ďbwaaaaaĒ logo.

I hadnít realised that The Good Fight is back. Two episodes up on All4 now. Easily one of the most entertaining US dramas.

Mystery Road S1 and S2, and the two movies - 9/10

Brilliant noir Western series with a brooding, grizzled detective who investigates various nefarious goings on in small-town outback Australia. Quite dark and slow paced with a bit of a despairing feeling running through it, think Winter's Bone but with much nicer scenery. It also blends in some Australian racial politics but isn't too heavy handed about it. Great bluesy soundtrack too. Saga Noren from The Bridge pops up in season 2 which was a wonderful surprise. Great stuff, hope they make more.

Lovecraft Country / Electric Sheep / Tales from the Loop ... So many seemingly promising but 6/10 sci-fi/anthology shows recently :/

Not really - the start is excellent, but it's all downhill from there. It picks up a touch at the end, but not enough to rescue it.

At the moment Iím forcing myself to get through For Honor just so I can give it the 4/10 score it deserves. Iím on ep 7 now so thereís plenty of time for it to drop down to a 3.

Breaking Bad series 3 rewatch complete.

I THINK it's my favourite series. It was 2, but I realise there's more Mike and Saul in 3. Four is pretty relentless but it does have my favourite episodes.

Yeah, sod it. BB3 wins overall.

    Giri / Haji 9/10

Really enjoyed this series about family, the Yakuza and gang violence in Japan and London. Itís very well done, even the recaps are stylish and thereís some nice twists along the way. Kelly Macdonald is superb in it. Itís on Netflix

    Devs - 8/10

Just a single eight episode season, so not a huge commitment, and it kept me gripped throughout. Definitely felt like it would have been in danger of disappearing up its own arse if it went on for more than a season, but thankfully knew when to quit.

Well worth a watch, along with with Ex Machina it's put Alex Garland on my list of names to keep an eye on.
