    Traitors - 7.5/10

Actually really enjoyed this, despite its flaws. Think 6 episodes was the right amount - enough to tell its story without dragging on.

With that said... on paper I should have absolutely loved it (due to the era its set in, the Boardwalk Empire links, decent casting - thought Luke Treadaway in particular was great in this, my love for anything to do with spies etc... ).

Fleabag S1. 9/10. Exceptional. Full of pathos, brilliantly observant with a great script and performances. Watched the first two just after they aired and liked it, but it dropped off the radar. Rattled through the remainder of S1 and the first 2 in S2 in two nights. Best thing I've seen on the beeb in ages.

After Life on Netflix. 9/10. Loved it. Laughed and cried in equal measure.

All of them, just finished the last series last night

It was rubbish by the end and the last episode was very bad. Canít say I wasnít warned but I felt I had to finish what I started

Overall as a set Iíd give it 8 out 10, last series was 4 out of 10
    Should have ended at S4.

That's where I stopped it. I got halfway through S5 and just didn't have the stomach for it any more.

    After Life - 10/10

    Quite wonderful.

I loved the line "Happiness is amazing. It's so amazing, it doesn't matter whether it's yours or not."

Yeah I just finished it After Life. Thought it laid it on a bit thick at times and the last episode was a bit schmaltzy but all in all I thought it was pretty great. Definitely the best thing he's done since The Office.

So I'm an idiot for calling it quits after the first episode?

If you didn't like the first episode I can't see you liking the rest.

How many 'joey' faces does he do per episode?

That's a deal-breaker for me, the sweet spot is between 2 and 9, fewer wouldn't own the libtards and double figures feels disrespectful

    The Let Down

Aussie Netflix sitcom about new parents. Very similar to BBC show Motherland only with babies instead of school kids. Pretty solid stuff.

    7.5/10

Formula 1 Drive to survive 9/10

Behind the scenes doc from the 2018 season. All teams part from Mercedes and Ferrari allowed access. Quite a lot of juicy material for F1 fans and interesting look at the human side the emotions and hard work etc.

Gunther Steiner the Haas team principal emerges as the main star here, he is quite a riot. I was also happy to see Ricciardo feature and he is a really nice guy with a good sense of humour. Watch out for his song about his ballsack!

    After Life

    9/10

To my mind, the best material from Gervais since The Office. Combines humour and pathos in equal measure; very clever and moving stuff.

This, apart from I say 10/10 if only for an improvised song about scrotums, and the swearing made it feel a lot more authentic than most F1 stuff.

    It also looks fucking amaing.

The sound is amazing as well. Shame you can't get that kind of mix watching the actual races on TV.

    Babylon Berlin - 9/10

Loved this. Apparently the most expensive non-English language series ever made, and it shows. It's really rather different from the novel on which it is based, but I don't think the changes to the plot harm it in any way.

Technically it's 2 series of 8 episodes each but they were broadcast back-to-back and there is no clear break between series 1 and series 2.

    Deutschland 86 - 8/10

I was a huge fan of '83 and it was great to catch up with the characters again. Overall I don't think it's quite as good as its predecessor (and requires a fair amount of suspension of disbelief) but it's highly bingable stuff. I did have to google the events of '83 to remind myself of who had done what and why, as '86 just presumes you remember all this. Can't wait for '89.

@Gunzberg I actually bought the BluRays from Germany but in the UK Babylon Berlin is on Now TV (it's a coproduction with Sky Germany) and Deutschland '86 is on All 4.

I believe both are on Netflix in the US.

Babylon Berlin I think was on ARD, and Deutschland '86 is on Amazon Prime in Germany, and I think will be (but hasn't yet been) broadcast on RTL.

BB is now out of the Mediathek of ARD, you only get the making of.

Oh well I will see if it comes to Netflix or something down the line or pick up a physical copy off ebay then

I feel like complaining for false advertising because this wasn't very happy at all.

    Excellent drama though.

    Happy Valley - Series 2

We devoured this in a couple of sittings.

Great acting across the board, tense and exciting but perhaps suffers a little from "soap syndrome" where it starts to become a little unbelievable that this little region of Yorkshire has so much violent crime.

Also moaning Myrtle was barely comprehensible in one particular scene and we had to draft in the subtitles to help.

    8/10

    After Life

It was... ok. Some chuckles, some feels, but in terms of character arcs I was felt a little unfulfilled. Spoilers follow.

It's like the key to overcoming misanthropy is for someone to threaten to stop you from seeing their kid. The final episode is just wall to wall schmaltz. Also, some of the secondary characters are pretty pitifully underdeveloped. Like the girl whose sole purpose in the series is to get all teary eyed whenever she speaks to Ricky.

Having said that, I still got through it in a couple of sittings and generally enjoyed it. Wish Diane Morgan had a bigger part.

    6/10

    After Life. 9/10

It's hilarious and incredibly sad at the same time. It deserves so much more credit and attention. Such a shame the season was so short.
