Killing Eve - 6/10 - Not sure I get why this one got so much hype. It's reasonably entertaining but but I felt it lost steam after the first few episodes and then dragged on to a conclusion which was very lacking. The plot toward the end of the series just becomes a bit of a mess. Also I am not sure I really bought into the actress playing Eve. Not quite sure why.

Overall it was OK but not really seeing why everyone was raving about it.
I struggled with it to, for pretty much the same reasons. It wasn't bad, but I didn't get the love for it.

It was reasonably creative in its delivery and had a light touch that I really liked. But I agree that it sagged in the middle a touch.

Actually, I found Eve to be a really engaging character and the best thing about the whole thing.

I felt the assassin to be a combination of random events and motivations that needed to happen to make the plot happen, shoved together in to a costume and called a character. It just didn't make sense as a person.

I watched that Great British School Swap someone mentioned on the previous page. Absolutely enthralling TV and couldn't recommend that one enough. Maybe it was stage managed, I don't know, but it was fascinating how well the kids could relate to each other despite their cultural differences - maybe, you know, deep down we're all just the same?

Fleabag series 1. It was good, sad but funny, the lead character is lovely

You. Some Netflix junk that the wife had recommended to her. Everything I've watched on Netflix so far has been gash and this was no exception

    Mind Hunter

A real cut above everything else Netflix have produced and I feel it's up there with the best stuff on the service. (BB, Mad Men, Saul, Fargo)

Rewatched in light of the new series and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time.

    Highly recommended.

    Sherlock (S1-4)

This wasn't quite what I expected. I expected something more serious, but it ended up being more Dr House solving crimes. Not a bad thing in itself as the characters worked well, despite the overly pat 'deductions'. Still it kept me involved until the end, although the last season was complete bat shit crazy.

    Josh series 1-3

Cosy, comfortable telly for the semi-engaged. Josh Widdecombe, Elis James and Beattie Edmundson flat share and live average lives with average problems. Not remotely groundbreaking but it's so nice and the characters so familiar.

    7/10 quality 8.5/10 enjoyment

Only seen the first episode so far, grim, but very interesting.

    Mindhunter

I appreciated this more with a rewatch. The development of their technique provides a solid overarching thread to supplement the investigations. The characters balance each other out nicely, although Anna Torv really needs to learn to have a shit before acting a scene.

Looking forward to the next series.

    Secret City

Pretty decent political thriller set in Australia.

Anna Torv still needs a shit though. She does focused very well, the truth beyond all else.

    Killing Eve.

Came to it late after all the folk raving about it. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I might after all the hype.

Looking forward to the next series.

    Gotham (S1)

It suffers a bit from having too many characters and too much going on, meaning that the progression of the main arcs is quite ponderous. However the character interaction is pretty good, and I enjoyed seeing how some of the famous villains got started. So much so that I think this is one of the better Batman spin-offs.

    And Alfred is great :-)

    The Farm - series 1 & 2

Comedy shorts series of video diaries from a farm in Scotland. There's only about six episodes so you can watch the whole lot in half an hour or so.

Some real laughs and sweetness and a nice spin on the mockumentary format.

    Back To Life

Brilliant bleak comedy about a woman returning home after 18 years in prison to the seaside town in which she grew up. It's so much darker and sadder than I expected. Bloody excellent.

Into the Badlands s3 - 7.5/10. Still some great fu, but it did seem like they were rushing it through knowing it had been cancelled - even if the door is left ajar for another network. Enjoyed it overall though, a good but not stellar series.

    Ghosts

The cast of Horrible Histories in a silly and sweet sitcom about a young couple inheriting a haunted house.

    Very good.

    Game of Thrones - 10/10

I bloody loved it. Some dragged, some sucked by overall it excelled and elevated both the medium and my life, what with having such a thing to talk about with others.

Bloody loved the last two episodes even if the preceding ten left me feeling rather underwhelmed.

    Mindhunter - 9/10

    That was just fucking fabulous.

    The Expanse S1

Enjoyed this a lot. Liked the characters and the universe it is set in. The small little details like gravity torture... well not that bit explicitly haha...were well thought-out making everything seem more believable. Intrigued for where it goes next

    4.5/5

    Game of Thrones S8

Sure, a bit rushed and could have done with more episodes has it tried to get everyone to endgame but it was spectacular in parts and for me was a satisfying conclusion albeit uneven. Can’t please everyone! 7/10

Entire show - was great. First four seasons is some of the best tv out there and even after that it has some major highs. Some amazing characters and memorable scene. Sure some of the writing dips in quality during later seasons but they trying to peice together notes and George is a master at what he does, it’s hard to recreate what he does. Even then there is a lot to like, albeit it is a bit more bombastic.

    9/10

Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes

    8/10

A great doc series. The fact that much of it is told by news recordings, but narrated over by Bundy himself, really ups the creepy factor tenfold. I would have liked it to go into the gruesome details of his acts a bit more, and his psychological motivations for such killings.

But as it stands it's an excellent window into an innocent age that wasn't aware such an evil could exist, let alone be prepared enough to handle it in time.
